Hi Admin,

Recently Bazaar Indulgence advertised in pushcart forum bazaar stall rental in Far East plaza on 24th and 25th later change to date 16th /17th and two days before the bazaar starts they cancelled it, reason was Far East refused to rent the venue to them.
They did not secured a venue and start collecting money from the public.
Until now I did not do get a refund from them ($160) is this organser reliable?
Do Pushcart forum screen all organisers before they advertise in this forum?
If an unreliable person pretend to be organiser and advertise bazaar space rental in this forum and start collecting money meaning this person is using your platform to cheat.
I intend to go to police if Bazaar Indulgence do not do a refund,is not the $160 I am angry is the thousand over dollars of goods that I bought to sell in the bazaar.:mad:

Thank you for your feedback.

Event organisers, in general, advertise about their events in various media outlets including newspaper Classifieds section and various popular online classifieds websites, including our own. In the case of Bazaar Indulgence, she advertised on various websites throughout the internet, not just ours.

As you can imagine, it is not feasible to do a background check on every advertiser. Most media outlets only moderate the contents of the ad, not the identity of the advertiser.

In our case, we went 1 step further to require advertisers to state their full contact details and ACRA number and to add a statement regarding refund terms and conditions and to require issuance of official receipts.

While we do have a blacklist of barred organisers, the efficacy of such an exclusion list is limited given that unscrupulous organisers can ask third parties (like relatives and friends) to register on their behalf using a totally different set of contact details.

In the case of Bazaar Indulgence, there wasn't any complains about her previously until your present dispute, and the identity used did not fall into our blacklist, hence we had no reason to bar her.

However, we have suspended her account since last week because she persistently refused to comply with the footer requirements in her new entries she submitted in Retail Resources (these have been deleted). We take this ommission seriously.

If you think you are a victim of fraud, you may wish to file a police report. On our part, we will assist the authorities to the fullest extent possible in any investigations.

At the end of the day, in whichever kind of transaction, vendors must evaluate their counter-party to gauge their reliability and track record. Miminise your risk by:

• Asking for Official Receipt with Letterhead and ACRA number (using a fake ACRA is a criminal offense).
• Make sure contract specifies refund terms and conditions before signing.
• Don't make any payment until you can speak to a human voice on a phone.
• Don't be desperate to take the space just because the organiser says it is the "last few slots".
  

With this in mind, we (the admins) will continue to seek ways to ensure that event organisers are as transparent as commercially feasible so that vendors will have a high level of trust in their dealings with them with respect to the ads placed on our website.

I'm one of the victims too! Promise to refund by 18 Jan (Mon) but nothing. When email them no reply. Worst of all, there is no contact numbers. Yet they got the cheek to ask me to join in their other events! Have blacklist this organizer and telling all their bad deeds to fellow friends and sellers. Maybe we can group all victims like us and make a police report together!!!

Hi, anyone fell victim to LLevents? They still owe me rental fee which they promised to refund but never did :( It has been 2mths already. Several emails and sms were sent but no response at all!

The organizer should be 2 ladies... The last event that they organized @ Toa Payoh Safra (if not mistaken) was horrible.. space so small and I was told so far no one selling children clothing.. almost fainted when step in... at least 3 stalls are selling children clothes.:tantrum:

The following day.. seems most of the vendors never open their stall..

Seems they are only care about their earning and not us ~ vendor.

Hi everyone,

I told them I printed out all the email correspondence with them and not hesitate to take actions against them only this organiser refund the money to me yesterday.In future if join bazaar event I want to see ACRA reg. and contact number of organisers.Nowadays join bazaar have to take extra careful don't get carried away because of good location

Calamine solution event organisers are very reliable I join the bazaar organise by them last year July .After collecting money they email you a layout to choose your stall and contact numbers are provided.They are in the bazaar to help you to settle down before they go off.I had a bad sale in the bazaar but I think is safe to join bazaar organise by them.

Joined too. Not bad. They did things quite nice. I like. Just suay that the event not much crowd. A lot of problems with an event company call LL EVENT, reported police and etc and I got the money back. They did something like Bazaar Indulgence.

Hence in the end joined calamine.

me too had a v bad experience wt bazaar indulgence at toa payoh safra.. worst case so far in my 1 yr of doing bazaars. was promised 2x2m space but it was far too cramped. then they say e space is including walking space btw stalls!!! they were not around to help settle everyone n only came to collect balance payment from some vendors n issue receipts (abt half hr in total). some pple tried calling them but they wouldn't answer their phones saying they were driving. 2nd day quite a few vendors would rather forfeit e rental n not turn up to do biz..

The more I think the more I felt this organiser is not reliable,usually after paying an honest organiser they will email you a layout to choose your stall .Who pay first who will got to choose a good location,but this organiser do not have a layout keep on telling me first come first serve, already felt not alright.I thought how are they going allot the stall to vendors it will be a chaos everybody will be dashing to get a good location.

Later email me with a big red cap change date 16th /17th and confirmed,2 days before the bazaar emailed me say cancelled because Far East Org.does not want to lease to them.
I knew they are lying how can a organiser without securing a place with a contract and dare to collect money from public ,this is call cheating.
Far East Org.will not do such a thing once you rent their place they want you to sign a contract and pay them and they will honour the contract.,Why I know because previously I am their tenant.
Is easier to check with Far East Org.whether this organiser rent the place in Far East Plaza on 24th/25th January.

I think this organiser did not lease the venue in Far East plaza,they collected the money first than later tell you change date and later last minute cancelled
and keep asking you to take other alternative venues.

Some vendors have no choice take up other venues because the organiser refuse to refund.For me is not only the $160 is the thousand over dollars of stock I bought to sell in the bazaar because the date is quite near to CNY maybe can make some money there.
I told them if they refuse to refund $160 when I take action against them it will be more then the $160.Immediately one hour later they make a refund,those can bully they will bully but not me. :mad:

Hi, I'm one of the vendors who has yet to receive my refund of $160 from Bazaar Indulgence. Hope this is the right thread to post in.

Could someone please enlighten me, last week's flea was cancelled, yet they are holding another event this weekend and NOT refunding vendors?? (came across this info through google):

Gather together and make a police report please. These people are getting away. Maybe get each other contact. Meet up with together to make a police report. If you are able to do this, I believe you will get back your money and do justice to this people. Hand them over to police.

I believe these 2 ladies were banned from forum once, senior members might know about this, and they came back with the compny called bazaar Indulgence.

i did not receive my refund yet either. I have all the email conversations we had previously.

If they do not refund me by these two days, I will not hesitate to file a police report online with all the email conversations. NOwadays, filing police report is as easy as logging into facebook yet people wanna cheat this kinda "small money"

The $160 wont make them rich and wont make me any poorer.

Hahas... Agree. The last event company tried to cheat me out of $30 and also my rental. I made police report and got ready to sue them in court. They scared and return me.

$160 X 50= $8,000 were make them rich if they keep on collecting money and say cancel and refuse to refund.Why X 50 because they told me they are taking in 50 vendors.

Anyway they told me to go ahead and email Far East Management with regards to the cancellation.

So I mailed the person in charge of concourse space already.

Will keep u all updated.

Cos from what I know, I was there on 16th and 17th at FEP, there was no ongoing event at the podium.

Good for those who get back the refund. For all the rest who didn't get any refund also, don't be further cheated by them for the 20/21 Feb at FEP or any other event that they are hosting! This organiser is totally unhonest and not trustworthy!! Don't deal with them anymore, instead just chase after them for refund!!! I'm going to give them till this weekend, if they don't pay up, I'm heading for the police, CASE and ACRA!

are they out to cheat or mis-management of cashflow, disorganized??? its a question-mark..??

if out to cheat, wont last long in this industry cos its so small n ppl spread words very fast..

mis-mangement of cashflow n disorganized - cld be! from wat i see, perhaps they want a win-win situation...they dare not commit n pay deposit to event as they scared no vendors sign up. at the same time, they collect $ from vendors to secure..by the time they have enuf vendors n want to cfm the venue, too late. either mgmt dun allow or booked by others or miss datelines..watever reason. so they kana stuck in between..

why no refund or late refund ? reason cld be holding on to ur funds n trf u to next event..if they refund, then they totally lost u cos for sure u wont join their bazaars again becos of all these last minute cancellation n unhappines..if they insist no refund, they can still keep u as a vendor..n some "no choice" jsut go to next event n close the case...

2nd reason i cld tot of is mis-management of cashflow..$ all spent already, why to find n refund u all??? !!

why some have refunds?? perhaps these ppl are really agressive n threaten police or etc...so they tot, ok, refund tis person...n they may also argue in future tt i m not out to cheat cos I DID refund to a few vendors..use u as shield n protect them in future.

Above are just my feel n sentiments after seeing wat happened to these 2 similar cases for the past few mths, after sharing views with some regular flea/ bazaars goers n knowing some other scams happening in other forums...

i m not related to them or speaking for them..so whoever didnt get back their refunds, think abt it n fight for ur $$ ...hope u get back what u shld have.

Hi Admin,

Since it is your requirement for advertiser to state their full contact details, it will be very much appreciated if you can provide me the contact details of Bazaar Indulgence (such as her name, contact nos, address, etc) so that I can take the neccessary actions against her.

Reason being, I've checked the ACRA and realize (too late) that Bazaar Indulgence is not a registered company and hence any action has to be made directly at the person-in-charge of Bazaar Indulgence. And CASE can't help cos this matter is considered as a biz-to-biz dispute and they are not allow to interfer.

Of course, under no circumstances will Pushcart ever be mention nor will you be involve in this dispute. But it will help alot if I can have her details so that I can file a police report against her directly and then proceed to the Small Claim Tribunals (SCT) where the courts will then summoned her to the court for a hearing. All these hassles is to prevent irresponsible organizer like Bazaar Indulgence to continue to cheat and spoil the flea mkt in Singapore and I hope to have the support of Pushcart in this matter. Many thanks in advance.

And for all those who are still waiting for their refund, it is time to quit waiting and start acting against Bazaar Indulgence! All those who want to join me in making the police report and filing a claim at the SCT pls don't hesitate to contact me. As I'm new and can't pm in Pushcart, pls do pm me instead~

Updating for those who is still following up with this case:

I've filed a police report against this organizer and was informed by the police officer that there is currently no pending charges against her and since my case is an individual one, I'll have to take action against her by making a claim at the Small Claim Tribunals (SCT) myself.

I therefore sincerely urge all victims to do the same and file a police report against her. If there is several police reports made against this organizer, the police will treat this case as criminal fraud and take actions against her.

For those who are lazy to go to the police station, simply file a police report online at this web:

Under the E-services, there is an option to "Lodging a Police Report: A Crime or Lost Property". Details to include in the report are:

(1) Date & Time of application for 'bazaar name'
(2) Date & Time of payment made fm 'yr bank account nos' and to 'organizer bank account nos'. Do state down if you happen to received any acknowlegement of receipt of pyt fm organizer.
(3) Date & Time of email received informing change of event date
(4) Date & Time of email received informing cancellation of event
(5) Conclude saying that till now no money was refunded fm the organizer, with her name and contact (pm me if you need the name & hp)

I will not hesitate to make the claim at SCT and will definitely make sure I claim her the $50 lodging fee together with the rental fee of $160! Will update any new happenings again.

There is another on going bazaar on 27th/28th FEB in Far East plaza by another organiser name Bazaar En Route.Anybody here heard of them? I receive their application form with a lot of details Acra reg./organiser name contact number and address.
Anybody sell in Far East Plaza bazaar before how is the sales there? Thought of taking a stall there,anybody willing to share? Thanks in advance.

I am also paid $160 for the far east, and they cancelled it last minitus. if anyone going to make policy report, pls let me know, I like to make report too..

and actually, can we check with far east side, if they really applied for far east bazaar, maybe we can get more information about this bazaar indulgence.

Managed to call up the person-in-charge of rental of concourse space at Far East Plaza and confirm that BI try to submit for application but was rejected!!! More to come, the person-in-charge says there was no upcoming event for the space on 20 & 21 Feb!!!

Yes gather for police report! I believe there are more being conned. Don't be scared. Stand united as one people! Report police! Can't tolerate such black sheeps in the industry!

The person-in-charge at Far East Plaza said Jane Lim applied under BI on the 3 different dates (23-24 Jan / 16-17 Jan / 20-21 Feb) but was all rejected bcos BI is not a registered company. Yet BI still emailed everyone saying that they've got the space when it is already rejected!!!
