Hi Everyone!

I have a suggestion here to improve all our traffic and sales. Would you guys want to exchange links with each other? I have done it with a few very good sites and the response is good. The minimum requirement is to have a page rank of 1 or higher, so that whenever google runs its spiders, it will not blacklist that page pointing to a page rank 0 or no page rank page. Just my 2 cents. If you are doing reciprocal links, it will carry higher weight, if you are using text link rather than images.

Online shops nowadays are very difficult to survive,everybody selling same clothes . Smart student buy clothes from City Plaza and take their own picture and use themselves as model and claim clothings are from Korea,US or UK.:confused2:
These few countries clothings are very ex plus shipping cost. I am wondering bloggers selling one dress about SGD27 to SGD29, how can it be possible from overseas.but these bloggers are pioneer they already have many customers that always buy from them.
Nowadays even you sell online it doesn't work anymore ,everybody looking for cheap clothings and some office girls even go overseas shopping in Guangzhou ( China).We retailer also dare not go there because alot of robbery and these girls dare to go there because clothes and food are cheap and wholesaler there are willing to sell 10 pieces different design because of bad times. Nowadays China goods are very good in terms of quality and price.
I auction my clothes in Gmarket only those below SGD25 can sell, everbody want cheap things nowadays.:laff:

Install google analytics to analyze your traffics. Your viewer may just be some spiders/bots/crawlers.

Just my 2 cents:

Link exchange may bring little traffic with possibility of getting some penalties.

The best way would be to link concurrently (if you have multiple websites on your own).

For example:

Site A pointing to Site B, C, D and E
Site B pointing to Site C,D and E
Site C pointing to Site D and E
Site D pointing to Site E

Where E is your main website.

Haven't got time to follow up on this thread. The retail scene is usually quieter after the lunar new yr so I thought I will spare some time (outside my facebook games' time! :D ) to provide some feedback.

Those who have been following this thread will know that my comments are originating from a potential online customer's perspective since I do not have any online website myself (only physical shopfront). And my comments may sometimes be hard to stomach, so no hard feelings please... And remember, you have already come so far, u are a lot better than some of us (me included :o ) who have not taken the baby step to create an online store. Keep it up!

Before I comment on anyone's website, juz 1 general pointer.....Not sure how much time people usually spend in coming up with a name for their website but I personally think that picking the right name is important. An example, I will not use "sealovers.blogspot.com" if Im selling office wears, the name will be more suitable for someone selling swimwear for example. Can't stress enough the importance of a good name... but remember to give it some thoughts.... one that is not too common, not too difficult to spell and most important not too easily forgotten. Am I making sense?

Hi dear, taken a quick look at your livejournal. Juz 2 comments:

1. "handmade accessories" - so are these handmade by yourself? If they are, :applause: . Be careful with choice of words when u are selling online. As u can see, when u say "handmade accessories", I went in with certain expectation and was a bit disappointed when I see those stack up rings... handmade? but the vintage buttons are kind of cute... I guess we can say they are handmade. Good thing is the words "handmade accessories" only appear here in this post, not in your website. :laff: Another eg, just above the 2nd collection pic, there is a "mood:crappy".... I would suggest u remove this, your "crappy mood" turns off your customers.... who wants to deal with a crappy seller?

2. Products - Lack of variety. Perhaps u can bring in more accessories, not juz that miserable 2 bangles. There seems to be a lack of focus.... a little bit of everything... and yet not that many things. Chances of me returning to this website is very slim, nothing to hold my attention.

Hi Cecilia, nice collection of bags n apparels u have. On my earlier pointer re name of website.... "dot" is actually easier to remember than "yixiaodian". :laff:

Guess I didnt have the patience to stay long in your website because the thing with blogspot is the earlier posts will sink to the bottom and if the pics at the top are not attractive enough for me, I won't bother to scroll further. It will be ideal if customers can see more pics at the one go.

If u have been doing this for 2 years and you feel that sales are still not good enough, perhaps it's time to "upgrade". See if any of the forummers here can help u get a proper website set up and work on those search engines and traffic hits. Otherwise, if u keep doing what u are doing, u will keep getting what u are getting now.... 一小点... 一点点... :(

Finally, nice model u have, so sweet... a little more make up should help.

As the saying goes, first impression counts, so that very first webpage (home page or welcome page) is very important. I was wondering if I enter into some online florist shop or some nature research site :juggle: and pictures for Upcoming products are too small to generate any interests.

So who is your target consumers? what kind of age groups are you selling to? Reasons for asking is because when I look at your choice of accessories, some are very "matured" and some are very "kiddish".... knowing who are your target audience can help u better focus on your advertising.

Also note that your pics when zoom in, are actually a bit blur. Example, in Other Accessories, the Hearshaped earrings n necklace set can be a very simple n classy set but the blur image will give customers a different impression. Certain accessories eg the brinjal or eggplant hairclip, u may want to consider using a model to let customers see the real life effect. Kind of difficult to visualise the effect after wearing.

For online stores, please do double check your spellings, sentence construction, etc. See "orders n contact us" page - "You may either the shopping to check out via Paypal or the attached form to submit your order to...." Something's not too right here....

Having a forum is interesting but monitor it closely because a dead forum may give customers the impression that not many is interested in your website n products....

I understand yours is a cove for little treasures n surprises and indeed I was surprise to see pens and mobile phone accessories! Up until now, it is very much a fashion accessories e-shop to me (Didn't I see the banner 'Unique Fashion Accessories at Vivajasy" in About Us page) so I ain't sure if it is a good or bad surprise. :laff: When I see the words little treasures and surprises, i was hoping to find some really unique accessories, something that I can't find in other online stores, something really different.... but :laff:

You see.... when it comes to online selling n buying.... the choice of written words, the use of pictures etc all become very important because we as consumers cannot feel cannot touch the products..... we can only rely on what u write n what u show in your website.... Am I making sense?

Hey, cute watches! nice sharp n clear pics too! :clap: This webpage seems more "fyi" type rather than an online selling platform.

If u have the intention to sell them online, then do include info like prices and details like material of straps, water-proof or not, etc etc and payment n delivery mode.

Here I'm assuming u only carry these few watches in your inQbox. If u have other products, then this page is a bit misleading, you may want to indicate somewhere in the webpage that you have other "Personal Jewelry" in your inQbox or to expect other Personal Jewelry in the near future....

Hi dear, if u have viewers and no buyers, I am juz wondering if your viewers are your target audience afterall. Ask yourself where do u advertise/market your website? Are your products unique, not something mummies n daddies can easily buy from outside. Are prices reasonable considering yours is an online store with minimal operating expenses?

You may also want to consider getting some kids to model the hairclips for you when u take the pics. Always easier for customers to visualize them. On hello kitty, am not sure if there's an infringement of trademark, so do be careful when u sell such products, even if they are juz hairclips.

This is a website selling kids' stuff..... the background of poka dots are really boring, liven up with brighter wallpapers please.

And I was thinking this is another website selling hair accessories until I scroll down.... Imagine if people are not interested in hair accessories for their girls, they will have left your website in less than 1 min. Hey but you have diaper cakes, baby hampers and baby gifts! Why not bring them to the top! No offence but I was wondering if those baby gifts are in fact extra gifts which u receive and did not use them, because the range is so limited... only baby girls clothes and only size 6/9 mths and the other one 12mths:confused2: If u want to create a website that caters to kids' stuff then be prepared to invest and carry a proper range of products, otherwise... ya.... u get viewers but no buyers :juggle:

"Already want to give up"??? Hey, only 1 month and u are already losing confidence? ok, now we are 4-5mths into your e-store creation, how's the result? have u taken any action since your posting above? Online selling is not easy, have to have lots of persistence and perserverance. If u are calling quit so early, then perhaps this is really not your cup of tea. Ask around, I think the successful ones took at least 6mths or even more before they see some decent results.


On your website.... Ghosh, your homepage is all wrong.... looks like is still under construction. I try to click on "About this blog - Our online fashion shop" but nothing happens...... would have left if if I didnt see the word "Page 1".

Your collection of bags n apparels are actually quite nice. Ideal if u can show both the magazine pic and a pic of the real item. With so many online complaints about actual products not matching up to the magazine pic shown, why not put in a little more effort n feature the actual items, this way customers will also feel more confident in their purchase from you.

I am a Full-time working mum with 2 baby gals who just set up a blogshop for plus size clothings. Really struggling to manage the blogshop cos really gotta consistently upload the nice pics and description.

As I am not very IT Sarvy, I only manage to do up a very basic one and recently after i changed the template, alot of pictures went out-of alignment. :(

I would like to have a livechat app but i cant find and do not know how to do so. Can anyone advise?

It depends on where your target market is. Get a .sg or .com.sg, if you are targeting to Singapore traffic.

I myself own a .net design tee website. Recently someone bought my website name in .com and email to me requesting me to buy .com and emphasize on the benefits of a .com vs .net website.

Hence my advice to you is to secure your .com website first. Whether or not you will be 'upgrading'. Registering a domain does not cost much but if someone buys your domain name, then you will have to wait for 1 year (expiry)

My blogshop is quite dead as well, probably didnt invest in models to take nice pic. but nowadays those models charge so high... any ideas too to sell clothings as my clothings seems way nicer than some seller, but I did not invest in nice models hence no sales. :(
