fancypocket is correct.
Cost Price = $10
Recommended Selling Price = $20

And for cost price, you may want to include
1. Shipping Costs
2. Cost of Goods or Materials
3. Labour Cost
which may include
a) production costs (if handmade; how long does it take to make one earring and how much is your effort worth?)
b) marketing (taking pictures, uploading, updating the post)
c) fulfilment (wrapping, sending it to the post office)
d) support (technical, refunds, returns etc.)

wee

Not sure if it's really comparable because flea market and bazaar are usually 1-2days, the commitment period is so much shorter than 1 month, 2 months. Been to a few shops and most retailers are complaining sales are slow and some even have 0 sales for a few days in a month. So it boils down to good salesgirls to promote and push our sales lor :juggle:

Since u have already signed up, all the best. So if we pay month by month, the commitment period is only 1 month right? If after 1 month, business is no good, we can stop and take back our deposit? :confused2:

hope the above info helps :)

why would u "force" yourself to go back? If I have rented a box, I think I will be more than happy to go down and check out the progress of my sales, preferably once a week.

i believe my products are unique and will speak for themselves :p besides, i chose a glass wall unit, so even if customers walk by, they can view from the outside without going into the shop. the sales personnel will not be there to "push" my items, cos there are so many different types of items there. personally i feel they are there to make sure enquiries (if any) get answered, process the sales.

min commitment is 3 months. but 1st payment = 1 month rent + 1 month deposit.

u have to sign a contract in the beginning. so after 1 month, u decided not to continue, the owners have the right to make u pay rental for the whole period u commited to

haha of cos i too am more than happy to check out the shop often. but some vendors, especially certain blogshop owners who are not very serious about their businesses (got business, take lor. no business, never mind), they may just dump their items in the shop and pray that got sales. then if they never go back to check, their display / products may get messy or dusty or damaged.

Hihi, think i saw u the last time @ the carnhill event. were u there? i was next to you actually. Ok..so i guess they are more or less the same sz everywhere. yup can combine and this is what i'm doing now combining 4 boxes. I think accessories should be safe but if too many also competitive. The current boxes that i rented also had lots of handmade acc and they more or less looks the same. So u hv to make something diff out of it..Also u have to make sure the box are nicely displayed & eye catching. That's how we can attract customers. Did u rent the boxes? Anyways Wish u best of luck:)

Hi,
Does Cactus hold your deposit for a certain periods upon your contract is end before it return to you.

Btw, is there a different rate if you pay a lump sum or monthly. (what's the price range for eye-level)

I think it's not right for me to reveal which owner. But everyone should learn from their own mistake, let's learn to be smart, at least try to bargain first before we decide.

i just signed up with cactus. they collected only 1 month deposit from me. payment is by monthly.

so my first payment is 1 month rent + deposit of 1 month rent. then the end of month #1, then i have to pay 2nd month rent. then within 7 days of month #2, i get my payment of whatever items i've sold less the operation cost & commission

i found this model work better than the other box/space-concept stores, cos i no need to come up with the whole sum at one go (no need to resort to borrowning money :p) and will "force" myself to go back to the shop at least 2 times a month to check out my cubic.

Ha, I didnt create this thread to promote for particular box-shop or shelf-space sharing owner. So my suggestion is perhaps u may want to contact catcus directly, I think Catcus is one of the forumers here. All feedback based on past experiences are welcome. No one knows whats going to happen in the future, there is always risk involved in any business venture. :smoke:

hehe, were u to my left (near the wall) or right (with the organiser)? :p yup was there with my hubby, trying to clear his sneakers. unfortunately that was quite a bad day, the crowd aren't interested in buying, and our bazaar was hidden all the way at the back :(

yup just rented cactus at OC, going to bring my items to set up later. the store opens on tues. hope get some sales there and more traffic at my website too :)

can pm me who that owner is? :p can keep me eyes open when i decide to rent the next box.

think u better ask the cactus owner urself regarding this. i actually didnt ask about this leh *opps* have promised the owner that i keep the rent confidential, so best is check with him bah. also, i dun think can pay lump sum bah, since they prefer monthly payment so as to get the vendors back to check their cubics from time to time
