![]() I'm quite a newbie with online selling and so far, all my buyers are from singpore.
But recently i received an email from a prospective buyer from Australia. Anyone knows how to do overseas shipping? is it a very complicated procedure? can i just pack everything into a small box and write the address and leave it to singpost to do the rest? would really appreciate your help! thanks in advance ![]() Another not-so-urgent question: Does anyone know how to start a mailing list without using the available online services like bravenet? I've been wanting to create a mailing list since ages ago but don't really know how to do it. Thanks!! |

![]() Shipping overseas is easy. If you have not already done the shipping, see below.
Yes, you can use your own box but ensure that it is "clean". I tried using a recycled carton box once (those paper boxes you see in provision shop that comes with some prints eg Magnolia Fresh Milk) and the SingPost Officer asked me to use white paper to wrap up my box first. ![]() you may also wish to note the following: - if you are using a recycled box, better to wrap up in white or brown paper. - if it is a nice and clean carton box, then simply write the addressee's name and address on the box. - Write in block letters. you should include the return address ie your name and address. Use marker pen. - Use masking tape and some will even use raffia strings to double protect the package/box. And when necessary, use bubble-wrap for your products. And of course there will be 1 or 2 forms to complete. Fairly easy but do check with your overseas buyer(s) because the value you declare in the forms may attract custom duties/taxes for them. Make sure you receive the full payment including shipping fees before you post out your stuff. Once you get the hang of it, you can easily estimate a shipping fees for your overseas buyer(s) without having to make a few trips to the post office to check on shipping rates. The attached URL is a useful guide on Singpost postal rates. I have sent packages/boxes to US, UK, HK, Australia before, I usually go by SingPost Speedpost Airparcel. So far, safe & efficient, usually arrives earlier than the estimated time indicated by SingPost. ![]() http://www.singpost.com.sg/quick_ser...ostage_cal.asp Last edited by FF Fashion : 27-11-2007 at 12:19 AM. |
