Be Careful ! Singapore Fashion Expo (14-16 June 2013)

I was informed that there is going to be an event held at Singapore Expo called "Singapore Fashion Expo" from 14-16th June 2013. Some of the vendors who know me personally asked me regarding this event.
I have done a check on this event as well as the organiser. In the Singapore Expo official website, it is listed that there is an event during this weekend. I have checked on the event organiser name and found out that the company is called Ideal Solution Pte Ltd
For those vendors who remember, this event company was having a few issues with the vendors whereby the person in charge claims that he had a few events but at the end of the day, some of the events were cancelled last minute. Some of the events like the Takashimaya did not even exist in the first place. If I'm not mistaken, there were some vendors who had to wait for a long time to get their refund back from the organiser.
I happen to get to know that the same company is organising this event at Singapore Expo next month. Apparently, they send people to give out brochures to some vendors during this weekend at Expo. The contact person for this event is by the name of Cabin. I have cross checked the phone number of this person and realise that this number is the same number for 2 other person who are called Jason and Ices. Some of you vendors might find the name familiar. I am just wondering, why would a person have to change his name so many times ?
Finally, I need to state that I have nothing against this organiser cos this website is a platform for all info to be shared especially to all participating vendors. In fact, I have not met the organiser before. For those vendors who are considering to participate in this event, pls be very careful. In anyway, if you do proceed, I do wish you the best of luck in sales for the weekend.

For your info, I m not helping this organizer as I have check with the management so I m here to share. I have done his event outdoor at hougang, parkway and amk which I have earn profit from his event, so I m fine with his event. Lastly I also check with the expo management that if this organizer cancel this expo event and he have to pay up 80% of the rental the expo management, so I don't think he will cancel this event.

Re: Be Careful ! Singapore Fashion Expo (14-16 June 2013)

Dear "Organiser",
You really do not need to be so defensive. I was just sharing to inform people here to be careful. That's all. Just some food for thought:

1) Why would an event organiser has to changed his name a few times (From Jason, to Ices and then to Cabin now)?

2) You mentioned that you have join his event a few times from Hougang, AMK to Parkway. This means you are a vendor and not an organiser. Is it "strange" that a vendor would give himself a nick called "Organiser"?

3) By the way, Expo management usually DO NOT reveal what are the terms of their contract or refund policy to ordinary vendors who call in to check. They only reveal this to the organiser themselves.

4) Lastly, for those members here who are familiar with how pushcartforum works, a simple check with the nickname will be able to tell what name did the person register in the first place. Below are the details of your nickname (Organiser) :

Additional Information Group Memberships

Name: ices
Location: Geylang
My core areas of business:
Online Retailing, Service Retailing, Event Organiser
Occupation: Entrepreneur

You see, if I'm not mistaken, you are in fact jason/ices/cabin. Honestly, you really do not need to be so defensive. Like I have mentioned, I have not met you and have nothing against you. If you want to be a good organiser, firstly, you must be honest. Whatever is past is past. Just move on. Learn from your mistake and be a better organiser. There are a lot of event organiser in the market nowadays so do a good job and I'm sure a lot of people will continue to support you in your future events. Learn to build trust with vendors. If your event is cancel for whatever reasons, do refund vendors as soon as possible and this will build their trust in you.
In anyway, if your event at expo is genuinely organised by yourself, I wish you the best of luck !

I agree with you on this. I saw the same number just last month in gumtree, this person was advertising for flea market, apparently he said in his wadsapp that it was at the grass patch behind cpf building in tampines, i went and there was no event at all. when i text him earlier to enquire on the cost, he seems agitated.
i just went to gumtree website, i saw cabin's advertisement.
sorry i find organiser very dubious

I had checked the Singapore expo calendar and there is really this event called Singapore fashion expo.. But there are total 150 vendors over there n I believe customers will have more choice to choose. The organsier don't limit to how many stalls selling accessories or clothings n etc. That is also stopping me to sign up for the events as there are too many vendors unless you have something which other vendors don't have.. An advice for vendors...

Small business, small profits. Someof ya even need these monies for the family. By cheating us the money and what do u gain from it? A ruined reputation, disgusted name & no one will wanna take your event ever. Plp in this forum will continue to spread the words of your disgusting behaviour and we will upkeep the spirit to ensure others will not be cheated by you. Why make your own life so miserable? You have caused yourself a crimminal case, countless court case. Plp who read this and is cheated by u will go police case on u. And your sentence will jus worsen. Wad for??

I know that this organiser call Ices is not honest in the first place. Previously advertised and inform me that there is a bazaar at Taka. Ask me to secure the booth, pls transfer the money immediately. Luckily I call and find out that there is no such event as Taka do not allow flea market or bazaar style in the mall.

If this Cabin is indeed Ices, then I strongly suggest all vendors here not to join his event at Expo. The event might be genuine but do you want to associate yourself with a dishonest organiser? Just my opinion.

This organiser sometime can be jason and sometime can be cabin, using same phone number but mention that is partner. And keep asking to transfer money immediately cos his event always left with last 5 slot. Its like so funny. Where got organiser keep rushing you to transfer money.

Hello vendors,

For your own safety, you better not transfer any money to this Jason/ices/cabin from ideal solution. He is definately out to scam. For all you know this expo event may be cancelled for no reason when it gets nearer to date. This is his style. Hold event & cancel then makan all the vendors Money and refuse to refund. Why work with such unethical organizer? You think u will get what is promised to u? Think twice, seriously!

I just received an email from Fleamonster regarding this event. They mentioned that they are organising a bazaar at Expo between 14-16 June. Can anybody tell me whether this Cabin and Fleamonster are from the same company as their event is held on the same date in Expo. Just want to be careful before I make any confirmation and payment.

Re: Be Careful ! Singapore Fashion Expo (14-16 June 2013)

Dear All,

I am a spokesperson for Fleamonster also known as FM Exhibition International Pte. Ltd. Our website is www.fleamonstersg.com

Recently our vendor has come to alert us about ideal solutions. We are not together or associated with ideal solutions. As we have a large database of regular vendors, we also work together with other organisors held at expo event with the most recently being the SPH Fair held in May. So we also decided to give a try to partner with Ideal Solution. We had done a preliminary checks with expo and like to confirm that the event is paid for and is a confirmed event. Why we are partnering with other organisor is that we noticed that some organisor are struggling to hit the break event rate and thus result in the event being cancelled. By us helping them out and helping them to fill up the space, the event is thus more likely to go ahead.

Do take note that we are not a sole proprietor(single person company) but we are a private limited company ie. PTE LTD. Please find below some details about our company which includes pushcart, retails kiosks, retails units, EDM services, and many others amongst just a flea market organisor.

Many of our regular vendors know that we are a highly reputable company with zero event cancellation.

About FM Exhibition Pte Ltd (aka Fleamonster)
We are the largest flea market organiser in Singapore. A brief info about a part of our services is that we act as an organiser and have a large database of vendors (10,000 vendors and growing!) looking for pushcarts/retail units/flea markets/bazaars etc.

Our business services includes indoor sales event at shopping malls, leasing of retail unit, push carts and retail kiosks etc.

Currently we have on-going monthly flea markets (of only brand new merchandise) located at several shopping malls as well as retails units and push-carts at Bedok Point, Downtown East Mall, UE Square, Chinatown Point, Changi City Point, Broadway plaza, Keypoint and many others.

- Our vendors' products range from but not limited to
o lifestyle goods
o mobile phone accessories
o fashion apparels
o fashion accessories
o perfume
o cosmetics and skin care

Apart from the above, we also provide EDM services and web advertising packages to our vendors. Due to our rapid expansion, we have also been recently approached by Singtel to partner with them on their E!Bazaar Online Digital life.

As part of our service offering, we will also be opening up our first Flagship Leadership store at Changi City Point 1st floor with a spacious 765 square foot of space on the 11th of June 2013 that will carry many blogshops brands making it the biggest Blogshop retail store in Singapore.

Please visit our website at http://www.fleamonstersg.com for more details!

But for those already participating the Singapore Fashion Expo, please do your checks and call Singapore Expo and make an informed decision from there.

Despite Ideal solutions being our competitor, our real intention is still to help vendors who have their event cancelled due to the organisor failing to secure enough booths. By having more than one organisors forming a partnership, this will definitely help to reduce the likeliness of an event cancelling.

We are still conducting our own investigation on this matter and until then we have decided that we will not have any future collaboration with Ideal Solutions.

If you have any feedbacks, please send to us at sales@fleamonstersg.com

Kind Regards,
FleaMonster

Re: Be Careful ! Singapore Fashion Expo (14-16 June 2013)

Dear Fleamonster,
Thanks for the clarification. I understand that you are trying to help another organiser to "break even" their event. May I ask whether you check on the other organiser company profile and history before choosing to "HELP" them? I think a lot of vendors here already know the bad history of this organiser. Also, when you choose to "help" other organiser in future, pls indicate it in your posting that you are "helping" another organiser and "NOT" the actual organiser yourself. This will give other people wrong impression of your company.

Sunshine2323 12-06-2013 08:30 AM

Re: Be Careful ! Singapore Fashion Expo (14-16 June 2013)

strangely, the ad in gumtree still carries the ideal solution's mobile number and the ad is there!

fleamonster 13-06-2013 12:22 AM

Re: Be Careful ! Singapore Fashion Expo (14-16 June 2013)

Hi Beztech,

Whether we are helping or not, we are still an organiser as we help to organise it, thus the word organisor is used as we still help to "organise" the event and being an organisor ourselves.

In any case, if his reputation was extremely bad, EXPO management would have rejected his application in the first place.

But not that we want to defend our "competitor" and this serves us no good, our mgmt has decided to end and will not have any future collaboration with Ideal Solution going forward.

Thanks,
Fleamonster

Flea monster,
Obviously u can tell from the chain of this forum that ideal solution is nothing but a scammer, a con man. Since u choose to associate yourself with company and people like them then sorry to say u are putting your reputation at stake too. I'm suprised you are willing to 'help' people of such... I'm definately a victim and can justify for that. Ices & now know as cabin have not refunded me the money since sept 2012. And obviously the case is filed legally with many other victims..

Need help from fellow vendors here. My friend did not know about the bad record of the organiser (cabin) and had booked for the event starting this Fri. Apparently, there is no update regarding the event. She has also tried calling the organiser but he did not pick up his phone. She is starting to get panic as the event will start tomorrow and there is still no update on the event by the organiser. Can anybody here tell me whether expo management allow organiser to pay a deposit and settle the balance of the rental space later on? If this Cabin has already paid fully to the management of expo, he should not have cancel it right?

I also have booked 2 stalls in this event, Front 2 Booths.

I will come back to post on the overall results of this expo event and the crowd.

Provided its School Holidays & other halls are having good events, I do expect good crowd at Expo and spill over crowds from other halls.

We do have a company lawyer, in case anything is a miss like some posts earlier stated. But I think everything should be smooth. Hopefully. :)

All your preamps were right! I have been contacting till yesterday and he kept saying he will send the details the next day but it never came and today there are lots of vendors outside the hall and was told by the expo mgt that the hall was not paid for!

Re: Be Careful ! Singapore Fashion Expo (14-16 June 2013)

Hi,

I think you misunderstood. We clearly was not aware that he is a scammer as we have many vendors who used to follow him and now is following us that his events do run although with high cancellations. He is a poor planner not a scammer.

We simply do not choose to be associated with a scammer and we are not associated with them in anyway. In any case, our high reputations supercede his bad reputation and we have a steady regular followers of more than 10,000 vendors and that is the very reason our events are always fully booked one month in advanced and we are proud to say that we have zero cancellation with full bookings at our every event as we listen to our vendors and we know where, how and when to organise and when not to organise.

We have helped Government agencies like the MArine Parade GRC Countdown, Schools, Malls and many more events and continue to be a trusted brand.

Upon seeing this recently, we have immediately ceased all collaborations with Ideal Solutions and I hope this helps to clarifies.

For those that felt cheated, I would recommend going to small claims tribunal. It will cost $10 for individual and $50 for companies I believe to file it.

Thanks,
Fleamonster

Re: Be Careful ! Singapore Fashion Expo (14-16 June 2013)

Yes, you should go to small claims tribunal. Cabin also owes us (Fleamonster) money for the booth that we have paid them. We will also be filing a small claim tribunal against him should he fail to answer our calls. His line is now engaged/switched off.

For those that have booked via us, the money has been refunded as we are a highly reputable company. We have undertaken to take the responsibility. You will also get a 50% discount on future booth with us at our regular events.

Thanks,

Fleamonster

Re: Be Careful ! Singapore Fashion Expo (14-16 June 2013)

I m really sad to hear the latest news. I wish I could have done more to alert vendors here. Anyway.....for your info, for any organiser to book a hall at Expo, he will have to pay a deposit of 40% upon confirmation and he will have to pay the balance at least one month before the event is supposed to commence.

Sometimes, the Expo management might allow the organiser to pay the balance within 3 weeks of the event. In summary, the organiser might have tried his best to get the balance 60% of the money but I guess he could not get enough vendors to cover the 60% and thus did not pay the Expo Management.

What I hate to think of is that the Expo Management has in fact cancelled his event 1 week ago. There is no way that the Management knew who are the vendors of the event itself. If I'm not mistaken, I heard that Cabin or his staff was still distributing brochures of the event just last weekend around Orchard Area. If Expo management has in fact cancelled his event more than 1 week ago, he is practically doing something really wrong here.

My advice for all fellow vendors here is to lodge a police report and submit a claim to small claims. That's your best chance and keep chasing him for the refund. I am quite sure that he will not be able to refund your rental by Monday. If he had money in the first place, he would have paid Expo Management. I hope this serves as a lesson to all of us and let's keep this thread updated so that we know who has been refunded and find a ways to help one another.

Jus out of curiosity... Now that the mishaps with expo with serveral vendors affected. Isn't it Worth to be in media? I feel this is good enough to go into stomp or any other media..

I feel Singapore police force should look into this matters.. For vendors like us it is better to sign up the usual organsier.. If a person who appeared to be the organsier but he is not, who dare to do bazaars? Who want their money to be cheated? Sigh.. He really have the heart to take our vendor hard earned money!!
