I used to join the bazaar at Orchard Central 2 years ago. Business was bad and I did not continue. The mall is a dead town and that is the reason the management decided to hold regular bazaar at Level 1 to "hopefully" boost the crowd into the mall.

Anyway.....that was 2 years ago. It could be different now. The only thing that I bother to post at this thread is that I find this thread very interesting. Surely Urbanboy is not happy with the organiser of the events and he vents his frustration in the thread.

But what made me laugh is the reply from someone by the name of "lebeautiecorner". You say you are very happy with the organiser as he/she is very friendly and helpful to you. You also mention that you find it difficult to rent a booth as everytime you enquire, it is fully booked. This is what you have quoted.

I did some checking. Below are the findings

In case you are still blurr, I have search the profile of lebeautiecorner and the name of this person is called Fanny. When I check on the organiser (eventmoment) contact person, guess whose name came up

You are the organiser and what you are saying is that you are very friendly and helpful. And everytime that you want to book, somehow there is no more booth available even though you are the organiser

As I have said, I find this post very funny. Organiser needing to create another nick to protect their reputation. Whether you are a good organiser or not, time will tell. In the meantime, please be honest here as we are all sharing info. please remember that an organiser should have good integrity.

Honestly speaking many of my vendor friends have tried out in OC advise me not to go to there, they said that place is dead and a crazy organiser does not honour his words,he can just stop you for selling your goods with no reason.

Scape organiser is good and businesses there are very good, selling price must be dirt cheap hardly can cover rental in fact I loss money never never want to return to Scape bazaar is outdoor and so hot and I felt like a beggar myself not worth going there.

Bazaars (Bedok point and United Square) runs by blogshopasia business is quite good but organiser sulk! I had tried to book a place from them many times but they are not interested in replying enquiry emails. They want you to pay first regardless they are available booth if they are no available booth they take their on sweet time to do a refund I was told by my friend that used to rent their booth.

I preferred UrbanEvent organiser Kevin he has many helpers to help out in the bazaar and are very friendly but he sold the the bazaar business (contacts) to Blog shopasia.

Dear all,to be frank with you all.. Before I go and sign up for the OC bazzars,I also heard my friends who are selling there warned me not to take the bazzars at OC cos it is very quiet and their things never sell.. But I still go ahead and try my luck.. Very thankful customers will still buy your things if they like your things.. Even 313 Somerset office staffs or working staffs in 313 Somerset they will also buy from me too.. Price also must be reasonable and sometimes give them some free gifts.. I am waiting for the next bazzar at Level 1 from the organiser which their B2 bazzar had already fully booked..

Let me state the facts so that everybody will know what exactly happen. The bazaar 2 weeks ago was not my first time in Orchard Central. I have joined the bazaar at Orchard Central at least 3 times previously under another 2 different organiser. I have no problem with the previous 2 organisers except for the latest event organiser (eventsmoment/maxdiva).

My problem is not with the place but with the organiser. They are not professional at all in all their dealings. As I have said previously, they keep changing the rules almost everyday during the bazaar 2 weeks ago. First they say I have to move to another location. Then, they say I cannot used handwritten signboard. Then, they say I cannot even used a printed signboard. Finally they say I cannot even sell my apparels at all on a friday. Do you think this organiser is professional at all???

Since XavieraLin bother to reply 2 times in this thread, let me ask you a question. What happen in the middle of the week the organiser told you that you are not allow to used your LED lights for your accessories? Then when sales is supposed to pick up towards the weekend, he tells you on Friday that you are not supposed to sell your earrings anymore and have to leave. How would you honestly feel? Hope you understand. Orchard Central does not have extremely great crowds but if you do have your regular customers and the occasional crowds from Orchard Road, you will still be fine. Still will have some profit depending on what you sell. As I have mentioned, I have join under 2 different organiser previously and did not encounter such unpleasant incident like the one organised 2 weeks ago.

Just my final piece of advice for those considering Orchard Central bazaar in future. Please check out careful who the organiser is before joining the event. This is the most important lesson that I have learned lately. Eventsmoment has no credibility at all.

Hi Urbanboy, I know how you feel but sometimes we also need to understand how the organiser feel too.. I was also been told that printed price also cannot display too and I have no choice to take down.. I did ask the organiser why I cant have my printed price banner..It is something do with image..Dont want to look like pasar malam..What I can do is to print something smaller price to price my ear rings.. I do understand how you feel but we also have to give this new organiser a new chance to improve.. Every organisers have their bad and good points.. As a vendor we are at their locations so we have to obey the rules of their games.. I am not pointing anyone but I feel we must give this new organiser a chance..

Dear Xaviera,
So, you are asking to give a chance to the organiser. Certain things can forgive and certain things cannot. This has to do with integrity and professionalism. Are you saying that if the organiser asked you to remove all your earrings and not sell them, you will do that and still smile and still give the organiser a chance ???

Dear urbanboy, before I sign up any bazzars, they will ask me what am i selling.. I told them I am selling handmade accessories.. If they allow me to sell at the bazzars, I will sell.. But if the organiser ask me to remove all my ear rings and not to sell them, I will for sure ask the organiser why I cant sell..

Hi all,
Just to give my honest opinion...

I had a one-time tryout at Orchard Central B2 bazaar from a Friday to Sunday once in May this year, was my 2nd time having a booth. Here are the pros and cons i feel about the bazaar and place.

Pros:
- Organizer was friendly and prompt in answering my queries (email), there was always a reply from Fanny shortly after my query.
- Names of booths personalized for all stalls
- As my first few times doing booths, orgainzers gave some tips on how to improve my design and even helped to borrow "props" to help us out.
- Customers who are interested in your products there are willing to spend as they have higher spending power.

Cons:
- afternoon slumps after lunch and before dinner time
- Orchard Central has strict regulations like must use black cloth as table lining, must open at 11am and close at 9pm... etc.

Overall, i think it is worth a try. For my first try, I actually manage to cover my rental, earn and gain publicity there. If you are looking to gain exposure and advertise your items, i think its a great place to try.

I go to bazaars at Scape now more often as my products target more teenagers, and the crowd at OC is more to tourists, family and middle aged customers.

And of course, any experience is a good experience. - my opinion.

Those who have PM me and offer me your advice, I appreciate it. Those who still wants to proceed to join the bazaar at Orchard Central, do so with caution. They are having one at level B2 from 1st June - 17 June and there is no publicity done from the organiser (Eventsmoment/Max Diva). Not even a small banner or poster to be placed outside the Mall. I will never go back to Orchard Central as long as they are still there.

Hi to all,
For example Gucci now have sales. Will they paste such big sign sales on the store? Same for orchard central it is not up to the organsier to decide. The organsier only listen n act on it.. Don't keep on pressure the organsier as I feel this is very unfair for him to judge on this.. Every Bazzars we go we will always have problems here n there but we must learn how to forgive n forget then we can able to run other Bazzars..trust yr own judgement rather listen.
