Just trying my luck to see if there are anyone who has tried the bazaar at Orchard Central? Any positive or negative feedback would be much appreciated.

Don't bother to try Orchard Central. The organiser (Events Moment/Max Diva) is the worst that I have encoutered for the past 5 years. He did not tell the vendors that Orchard Central has so many rules and regulations before the bazaar started.

There is also no written agreement between the organiser and the vendor. In the middle of the bazaar, he tell the vendors new rules, like cannot have hand written signboard. Then he tell us to move to another location in the middle of the week. Then he tells us that our clothes are not so suitable and so we have to move. Then he tells us that even laminated signboard are not allowed to be placed ( at first it was hand written). Then he tells us that all the apparels vendors are not allowed to sell anymore apparels and ask us to leave immediately.......etc....

Also, no effort was done to bring the crowds into the shopping mall. Orchard Central is generally a quiet mall. The organiser did not even bother to put any poster or banner outside the mall to indicate to the public that there is an event inside the mall. I am utterly disappointed !

Orchard Central is a dead town. For your info, the management is Far East Organisation (FEO). Most FEO mall really cannot make it. Guess they are not that good in Shopping Mall. Look at Square 2, Central, Far East Plaza, etc.....they are all dead.

Hope you learn your lesson and skip Orchard Central in future.

Hi,

I had tried the Bazzaar at Orchard Central before... Personally i will think that if you are talking about a few hundreds bucks, that should not be a problem, but overall it still got to narrow down on what is the products you selling as well. :laff: :laff:

Beside what i think the rental is at a reasonable rate, and i find that the organiser is very friendly and helpful and always available at the event area. And if you are saying the place is a no good, but most of the time when i want to rent the booth, it got book out real fast.

I totally don't agree with what you had said "URBANBOY".. Maybe is your products that is not good enough for the place i guess, and you said you been doing bazaar for 5 years.. :laff: :laff: Guess seriously, u need to touch up on your VM, especially when you are selling in Shopping Malls in Orchard. :D

And i have fellows friends whom is doing bazzaar is sharing the same thinking as i do.

Hi Darlenz, 1st I need to know what are you selling.. For me,I just finished my one week bazzar at Orchard Central for the 1st time.. I do heard rumours that Orchard Central is a very quiet place with no crowds at all but I still go ahead and try..
I met a lot of new customers who had purchased my handmade items and the sales are quite ok for me..
To my surprise there is crowds on weekdays and more crowds at weekends.. The crowd normally come from 313 Somerset and Centrepoint Underground Tunnel.. Weekdays is more for lunch and dinner crowds but for weekends is more for family crowds..
And the organiser of Orchard Central are super friendly.. He will greet you with a smile when he see you and sometimes he will ask you how is your sales today? The bazzars area are very comfortable with air con and great music.. Each booth are catered to your store name and it is very super kawaii.. To me it look like a cute house :):) The rental are reasonable and it is not a rain or shine event.. I will encourage you to go and give it a try..

I am consider a regular vendor at Orchard Central Bazaar. Maybe I can share my honest opinion regarding the place to all interested vendors especially the recently concluded bazaar 2 weeks ago.

Pros

1) Air Cond and very comfortable
2) Table booth has your company name or brand name
3) Very cheap rental.
4) You can leave your products overnight. Good security.

Cons

1) Organiser very strict because management insist must open from 11-9pm
2) It is long hours so if you are alone, you might get sleepy during the weekdays afternoons
3) No hand written signboard
4) You cannot use canvas to cover up your booth every night.
5) If you are selling apparels, your apparels must NOT look too CHEAP. You cannot use hangers that you buy from NTUC cos it looks too cheap.
6) Organiser DO NOT control the amount of vendors selling the same category of products. The last bazaar that I attended 2 weeks ago consist so many apparels and accessories vendors!
7) Be prepared to accept new rules and regulations during the bazaars. I agree with Urbanboy to a certain degree and can understand him. If the organiser feels that your products are not suitable to be place at a certain place (even though your sales is good), he will ask you to move to another location. This is a big turn off because you have setup your booth in the beginning of the week and sales is good and then organiser say you have to move to another location.

The last bazaar that I attended at Orchard Central, half way through the bazaar in the middle of the week, the organiser ask all apparel vendors to remove their apparels and are not allow to sell them. This is also the first time I have seen any organiser do that :)

I am sure many regular vendors of Orchard Central will know what I mean :) Most of you were there 2 weeks ago. Urbanboy might be one of the vendors who got affected and for that, I do understand.

As for lebeautiecorner, you do not need to defend the organiser. If Urbanboy's product is not good enough, the Organiser SHOULD have told him that in the first place and not allowed him to join the bazaar in the first place. Maybe you were not affected and that is why you do not have any issue with the organiser. If you are selling accessories, just imagine halfway through the event, the organiser say your products are ugly and not nice and you have to move to another location, how would you feel honestly?

If I'm not mistaken, Urbanboy issue is with the organiser and not about sales and whether Orchard Central is a good place or not.

Also, Orchard Central has a few event organisers so not all event organiser are like that.

Finally, this is the first time that EventsMoment is organising the bazaar at Level 1. Give them a chance cos they will surely improve through time.
