Re: Anyone Tried Bazaar at Orchard Central
To compare between Gucci and a bazaar has no meaning at all. Gucci are branded and all their stores are listed in the shopping mall directory. How can you compare this way?
Anyway, lets just move on and not stick to this topic anymore. If anyone does not want to take the risk with the current organiser, just skip the event. Those that want to give it a try, feel free to try at your own risk. By the way, I drop by Orchard Central B2 this afternoon, it is completely dead. Saw 2 vendors even fell asleep :D |
Re: Anyone Tried Bazaar at Orchard Central
the Japan Fair that was held in June last year was good. I wonder if there will be another one this year.

Re: Anyone Tried Bazaar at Orchard Central
Not too sure about the Japan Fair but there was another organiser that organised something call the International Fair where all the vendors are mainly foreigners and the products that they sell are upscale market. He no longer organised at Orchard Central anymore.

Re: Anyone Tried Bazaar at Orchard Central
How can you compare an apple to a durian aka Gucci vs Bazaar?????
FYI, Gucci will only spend their advertising budget on direct mailers to notify their customers about the sale and such sales are mostly by invitation only. Even if the bazaar organiser is not allowed to display banners due to various reasons (eg. no approval from landlord or BCA), I'm sure they can think out of the box to try other forms of publicity (distribution of flyers by the street, sending emails or direct mailers to the neighbouring offices, obtain permission from landlord to paste posters in the lifts within the mall, etc.) to help boost the traffic to the bazaar area right? As for the last minute decision by organiser to remove products - vendors are allow to demand for an explanation or compensation, especially if the product to remove is your main trade and you have already registered with the organiser. It's for the organiser to go settle with the landlord if the removal is requested by the landlord. To the organiser - I know that it's no easy job to organise a bazaar as you need to strike a balance to please both the landlord and vendors. Consider providing your landlord a list of products your vendors are gonna sell at that bazaar, get the landlord to endorse it to avoid some last minute unreasonable request like removal of certain products. Cos I know some landlords are easily shaken by their very fierce tenants. Tenants will blame anyone and everyone when their sales don't meet their target and they will start their unreasonable demands on their landlord. The only thing the landlord can do is to "bully" YOU (the organiser and vendors) by removing those products mentioned by their tenants. With the endorsed product list, you, as an organiser can fight and protect your vendors and also yourself. Never allow landlord or their tenants to bully you or your vendors!! :coffee: :coffee: Quote:

Re: Anyone Tried Bazaar at Orchard Central
In the first place, there was not even any contract or written agreement between the organiser and all the vendors. There were no prior agreement that mention that the organiser has the right to remove any products or vendors in the middle of the bazaar. I actually did asked the organiser (Eventsmoment/Max Diva) why he has to remove my products but there was no answer given at all. I am not the only vendor affected. There were at least 5 other vendors who were affected. Maybe we can group together to take action against the organiser.
