Idea for everyone to clear stocks
Hihi..
does anyone know if to organise some form of car boot sales, is it legal in Singapore? Is there any party we needa contact? Wanna organise one together? Actually I was thinking if to minimise everyone's rental cost, we can actually have flyers distributed around the area then we can either set up a car boot sales in some carpark.. alternatively, we can do something like this: (1) Look for someone's residence or maybe rent a room or event hall at a CC (example bedok) OR organise an area for car boot sales (2) give our flyers (into mailboxes) at tat district (bedok) telling people there is a bazaar going on with many items going for clearance (3) and on the day itself, give out flyers around the area? It is alittle troublesome to coordinate but I guess it would be quite fun for everyone? And hope in this way, we are able to clear most items? and there is always a target market? (by district).. Do let me know how you feel about it.. I guess for rental + marketing, one would have to come up with about $50.. also, for this to realise, i guess we would need to have about 10~20 people who are interested.. =) the more people, the less the cost to organise such an event~~ |

Re: Idea for everyone to clear stocks
Hi Hi! I am certainly interested too! Thought it will be fun! However, for car boot sales, that means we will have to have our own car? or can the items be laid out on the floor or the "carpark" and make it really bazaar style??
Not too sure if this is legal, but I guess a permit will certainly need to be obtained as it is a carpark we will be using and if the event is successful and a crowd is ensured, then there will certainly be some concern from the authorities... Ever explored CC too, but feel that the crowd does not seem to be there... But if there are suitable locations, I would certainly be keen! |

For location like the CC for an example, the crowds are more for older people.
You rarely see teenagers or youths looking around. Maybe it's the timing...Cos for weekends, they are open from morn to aft only. |

Yes, I would be keen to take part too provided the permit is obtained for this type of bazaar market.
Please call me at [Phone Number Removed] once it is more concrete. Thanks |

Re: Idea for everyone to clear stocks
hihi everyone!! hmMmm.. maybe for those interested, maybe we can all submit ideas for this to work out? is it alright? i was thinking of car boot but I think it might not be very legal in Singapore and gaining permission might be a slow process..
I think the CCs might be a better choice? But anyone has anyone in mind first? Anyone has any contacts on CCs? Maybe if you have, you can let us know the charges? For flyer distribution, would you guys rather pay for someone to do it? Or would you rather do it urself? I stay in pasir ris.. what about you guys? |

Re: Idea for everyone to clear stocks
Hi Hi!
I think for CCs, we might have to go for those function halls?? The cost would be about $700 - $1000 plus. Have a friend working in the CC, and she was suggesting that if we were to organize our own bazaars, not necessary to take the hall, but perhaps at the corridor instead as it will probably be cheaper as they can work out something like how much for rental of table and chairs etc. If we really keen to take up, she mentioned that we will need to submit a proposal for their discussion and approval. However, my feel is that if we really keen on the CC, best to hold it when it coincides with some events, perhaps such as those Count Down Parties, National Day celebration etc, where it will really draw crowds. Otherwise, for their minor events, it might not be so good, even if we were to distribute our own flyers as, hehehe, afterall, how often do you think you will go to a CC?? (I don't go unless my friend is at that CC...):P I stay in Jurong! |

Hihi!! I'm interested in the idea too! Actually I was thinking (not sure if it's possible) to rent a space at some shopping malls. I live in Simei and sometimes the first level of East Point Mall will have sort of like a bazaar thingy. I went to ask at the info counter and the person told me it's only available for the stall owners of east point mall. But if they open it to the public then we'll be able to set up our stalls there! I don't know who to contact though. |

IMM has done it, before they renovate. So I'm pretty sure it's pretty legal. Start with CC first or you can start at a small time shopping malls like Bukit Panjang Plaza
