Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
hi all
im intending to organise a flea market/bazaar sometime this year and would like to hear your comments! a. how much are you willing to pay for a stall per day? b. where would you think would be perfect? c. which is the best bazaar you've participated/gone to? your feedback would be valuable for us when planning for the next big thing. thank you! :) :yippee: |
Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
Heavy traffic flow is very important, and cannot exceed 30dollars per day, like the sculpture square, it can be done but provided they must share with ppl like 25dollars each, then will make profit margin, cause many ppl no count their own labour cost, that is u, u mangae the store of course must have at least $50 a day for your own pay.

Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
1. Price should be comfortable for the vendor and organizer, especially during this kind of economic as people are very cautious with spending. I should say not more than $30 for outdoor, and $50-$70 for air-conditioned. Price suggested was assumed for kind of 2 days event.
2. Preferably in City area, at least there are more different type of shopping people. 3. I tried MAAD, and would say it all depends. Wanted to try Clarke Quay but veeeerrrrry exp. I wonder how to cover the rental:roll: |
Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
a. how much are you willing to pay for a stall per day? depending on location, aircon, table size. generally, $20 - $30 for 2ft x 2ft b. where would you think would be perfect? easily accessible e.g. walk 5mins from mrt/bus-stop i understand cheap and crowded place is hard to achieve, if place is obscure from general public (e.g. behind some big, accessible building), marketing like banner is expected. c. which is the best bazaar you've participated/gone to? still the good old lime flea. i remember rent was $20 only? location was quite good also |
Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
totally agree with enteaq!
|
Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
a. probably $20 to $50 per day. would also depend on venue, table, outdoor/aircon, lights (if nite bazaar) etc things provided, publicity done, expected crowd..
b. places near mrt/bus stop c. fleatique (my sales are always v good! haha) & crossroads (the organiser was very helpful, the 2 tables was very good bargain for $40 per day, the sales was v good too) keep me informed when ur event is up :) |
Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
thanks everyone for commenting..
keep flooding this thread! we need more feedbacks while we are working hard to craft an ideal bazaar/flea market for all.. :) cheers. |
Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
I prefer a special theme for the bazaar i.e. Children Wear Bazaar, Craft Bazaar , Toys Bazaar, Fashion Bazaar or Family Bazaar.

Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
Hi, I just started. So far had been two bazaars. Both experience arent that good, maybe not within my expectations.
1) At THE CATHAY Area too small, too cramp, no crowds at all 2) AT Clarke Quay Though better crowds, however results arent that satisfactory. Statuesquecharm |
Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
i dont mind participating one in jurong west too! but where wld it be near?

Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
hi,the most important of a bazaar locations is an ideal places with lots of traffic flows & most importantly they must have buying power too.If there's traffic but hardly anybody buy is not ideal too.
The rental depends on the location and the standard space given is a 3x3ft table with 2chairs & able to put a rack of clothes at least.Rental can be as cheap as from a $5 a day to $150 a day.Of the places i been to.I find these few places are with the most traffic crowds & buying power : ranks as follows- clarke quay , bugis juction , jurong point ,cineleisure in my opinion. Public holidays , wkends will be the best. Hope these informations will help u & inform me if you are organising any bazaar. |
Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?

Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
Hi
I believe people are willing to pay SGD50-SGD100 per day depending on the crowd and sales. The best location is Clarke Quay flea market. But they no longer have the flea market now and I miss it. I believe many regular patrons also miss the flea market. Tour buses came in the morning with tourists, they help to bring up the sales. I can earn up till SGD400 1 Sat just by selling 2nd hand stuff. This is also the reason why people will pay for the stall because the sales can cover the rental fee. Marketing is good such as advertisement in the ST papers and advertisement by tour guide to the tourists on the tour bus. But all is lost because they dont have flea market anymore at clarke quay. |
Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
yah i was looking forward to the daytime clarke quay market too, used to go there to hunt for all the queer fashion stuff hehe.. quite sad that it's gone. tanglin is getting too expensive, and from what i heard from my friends who set up store there, lots are bargaining for $0.50 and sometimes even below! might as well give free! -_-

Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?

Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
Hello!
a. how much are you willing to pay for a stall per day? $10 to $25 If it's more than that its not that worth, cos owners have to make their own transport over there and such. b. where would you think would be perfect? Place with crowd of cos! Preferably the place is reachable by MRT/BUS and is easy to get to! c. which is the best bazaar you've participated/gone to? None at the moment. |
Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?

Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
hi all,
i m selling handicrafts online n recently decided to come out from e cave to meet more pp n let my brand get more exposure. i had done abit of reseach on getting a stall in bazaar/ flea-market. Alot of pp r willing to pay more for good location with good flow, but end of e day this doesnt mean tat everyone will get a good profit out of it. So u, the 'boss' had to calculate everything in; SALES - Material Cost - Rental Fees - Misc = Profit But!! is this profit worth your percious time selling at e stall? If you are just trying get more exposure to the public, then u had to know who is your target audience. This is very important, so that u wont waste ur money n life sitting there with no sales. back to the topic; A: How much are u willing to pay for e rental? *this had to depends on e crowd n location cum facility given. crowd/ no crowd, any power point support, indoor/outdoor, air-con/ non air-con? this is just a guide, sometime u had to give n take for e previlege given. for first timer better to get a lower rental fees one than one shot get high rental fees one, gain more exprience n build a stronger $$ backup b4 u chiong! cos u wont wan to return in empty pockets end of e day, n had no more $ power for next battle. B: Where u think it would b prefect? (omg... this is going to b a looonng winded one):coffee: Actually, all of us would think of cos its town area, good crowds. but this mostly means high rental too. Many of the online-bosses look around for flea-market or bazaar, did anyone out there think of organise an office shopping spree? Some pp jus dun go to flea-market/bazaar. Working adults have better spending power, do u think so? and this save us some cost on e rental fees too, u save ur rental here n give them discount to catch hold of their heart, n then they happy u happy, win-win solution:yippee: . u may not need to bring all ur stuffs there, but mayb half of wat u will bring to sell in e bazaar/ flea-market, the rest take pics to show them, if they want then u mail it to them. get some other bosses who are selling different things from u, ask fren to pull threads n intro u into their office. n must do homework, do survey what e pp wants to c most. Wah... earning good $$ seems difficult, but once u got it right, its as easy as ABC. :applause: C. which is the best bazaar you've participated/gone to? I quite like MAAD, as e location itself had bring my brand to another level. And its air-conditioned with a 3x3ft table n a chair, with power-point supply too. All of the above are just my 5cents worth.:D |

Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
Hi all, new to this forum and glad to see discussions about bazaars. I sell my handcrafted items online as well as at bazaars.
Personally, I feel that different items sell well in different locations. For my items, cos I make crochet bags and greeting cards etc, my best sales have been in places where there is a good mix of adults and tertiary students. A uni or poly bazaar would be good if I can get a stall. Rental fee: preferably between $20 to $50, depending on whether there is shelter and air-con |

Hi ~~~
Am willing to pay $30 to $60 depending on location, whether is outdoor or indoor (with air-con). Where u think it would b prefect? Town area, good traffic flow, offices, school ... with good traffic flow is impt .. Which is the best bazaar you've participated/gone to? Did before at Suntec City, quite affordable if I rem correctly is $50 per day @ the convention hall (That was like 6 - 7 yrs back). Worst - Home Club ... lousy traffic flow .... I am also looking for flea markets to clear my 2nd hand stuffs & also I do have first hand items (eg. accessories, clothes, bags) Any1 has lobang for flea markets, pls PM me. Thank you! Cheers ... :yippee: |

Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
Try tanglin mall @ $85. Balloting system though.
|
Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
have tried : big spash sgcarboot sale $50 for 2 days - hot sun but not bad traffic, tanglin mall $70 for 1 sun, also hot sun good traffic and be prepared to have domestic helpers who will really look to slash your prices, last and the WORST Fashionista 3 at SMU - horrible, didn't even make enuf to cover the $37 excl parking and man-hours there, you do the maths. Basically if you wan t to organize a flea make sure there' s publicity and good human traffic. fashionista was the worst run event I have ever attended. Only SMU students, held underground, 3/4 pple there were vendors,. If the traffic is good I would pay up to$50 a day. Heard there's one coming up in Terminal 3 organised by the same pple from sgacrboot sale but a bit ex.

Re: Flea Market/bazaar - How Much and Where?
bazaar @ Scape youth park is new, so not many pp know about tat bazaar, but i know e organizer is doing something to make e place livelier. Plus e youth council is trying to attracts more pp there too. Next bazaar might have live band or more lights effect... not sure yet, but this is wat i had propose to them.
I was there on e past bazaar, can say e crowd is quite slow + its was drizzling for tat 2 days, but i manage to cover n earn some profit, but end of e day, stil had to depends on your products whether you had target e right market. E more vendors e merrier, as each of us mass mail out about this to our own client teles, more pp know about this more pp will come n check it out. I m going again for sure. |
