Bazaar Scam
I m starting this thread to share with everyone who are interested in joining an event, bazaar, flea market , etc. I have recently received a few feedback regarding this issue and I believe it is very important to share with everyone.
Recently, there is an organiser that is going around telling people that the company has events at Takashimaya and Star Vista. The company is advertising in the internet forum as well as sending emails to individual vendors. For those vendors who have received the email, pls TAKE NOTE that there is NO events held at Taka from 26-30th Nov 2012. I have checked with the management and they mentioned that there is no such event held on that date. I understand that some of the vendors have made police report against the organiser. This company (Ideal Solution) is also publishing other venues. I have not check on other venues but pls be very careful. If you are new to the bazaar / flea market / event industry, pls take note of certain things listed below: 1) Is the event organiser a regular event organiser? A simple check in the internet will let you know whether the event organiser organises regular events with feedbacks given by vendors. 2) If you have not heard of the company before, pls do not rush to make payment to the organiser. You can always call up the management of the venue to check and verify whether the company has booked the space. 3) I understand that a few regular event organiser always asked payment to be transfered to a POSB Savings account. I always do not encourage people to transfer to a personal savings account as that is not following procedure. In anyway, as long as you have join from the same organiser before, it should be fine. 4) Do not be tempted to join an event urgently when the organiser says that you have to transfer the payment immediately to secure the spot. Better be careful then to be sorry in future. This is just my sharing. I understand that Christmas is coming and there are a lot of organisers organising events everywhere in Singapore. I wish everyone a great time earning good income during this period of time but also be very careful when you booked an event during this period. Good Luck! |
Re: Bazaar Scam

Re: Bazaar Scam
I actually wanted to join one of Ices event at J Cube 2 months back. He was very eager to ask me to transfer the money to a POSB savings account. At the end, I did not join because I sense something was not right. I even visited the venue on that week and realise that there was no event at all !!!
I guess we all have to be very careful. Thanks dingdong for starting this thread. Think we should keep this thread to warn others. |
Re: Bazaar Scam
We can make police report one right? Since we have their bank account. Dun tell me the police also cannot do anything?
|
Re: Bazaar Scam
Regarding about kpopfiesta, I feel they are quite fishy so I never signed up with them. They have a event at Jurong point and the rent is like $200 for 3 days near the main stage.. They asked me to transfer the money to them 1st but I refused. I want to issue them a cheque and asked for their company name but the girl that I liaise dont know the company name?? But she worked for the company leh.. I also never bother to check whether the event is it really on or what???

Re: Kpopfiesta Jurong Point
I want to thanks the originator of the thread for alerting us on this. I have paid money for the booths at Jurong point (kpopfiesta) and all these threads are worrying me, I checked with the organizer and he responded immediately everytime I inquire about something. I have not worked with him before, however, I can feel that he is working hard on this and because of all these complaints, it's affecting their reputation. I want to clarify that the organizer is doing his best to coordinate the activities at JP and want to get this going. However, all these doubts are deterring the team efforts.

Re: Bazaar Scam
Hi everyone,
I am just trying my luck as I am being recommended to this site by a friend. I paid for an event about 1 year ago and the event was a fair to be conducted at the One Fullerton near to the Merlion. The event was called Marina Bay Market and the organiser company name is called Pure Events. Together with 20 vendors, each of us paid $1,750 to the organiser. The event was postponed a few times until we realise that she has ran away and we could not locate the organiser. The person in charge was called Tina. I know this is very difficult but I want to try my luck to see if anyone here would know the organiser or the person called Tina or also had the same experience I had to go through. Thanks so much in advance. |
Re: Kpopfiesta Jurong Point
Hi, i have also contact kpopfiesta on the vivocity and finally got a reply after a few emails. As i have paid the rental, i got worried after reading all these threads. According to them, they will give a confirmation whether the event is confirmed or cancelled by early next week...hope they will get back as promised.

Care to share more information about the organiser? Maybe that might help some of us understand why they removed their post within a day or delay in their responses to queries, yet very eager to get interested vendors to make payment ASAP. :thanx: |
Re: Bazaar Scam Kpopfiesta Jurong Point

Hi, we have did our best. But in the end, we have to cancelled the event on 24&25 Nov 2012 Jurong Point bazaar. They received too much complain from some external vendors. I will contact your again after this week to get from you the refund details. Sorry for all the inconvenience caused. We will make a full refund to you. Thanks, |
Re: Bazaar Scam
Angieng, I do hope you get your refund back soon. Do remember to followup closely on the refund process. I do not have any issues with any organisers but I do want all organisers to respect and help vendors out whenever possible.
Sometimes, organisers want to collect the payment immediately to confirm a booking but when their event is cancelled, they take a long time to refund back to vendors. They will give reasons that the accounts need to process the refund process. Just spare a thought that all vendors needs the money to roll over at other events. Sometimes, when the event is cancelled, the vendors have to looked for other venues to sell in the last minute and this might not always be possible. At the end of the day, vendors will be left with excess stocks and no place to sell. This is especially so during this Christmas period. I hope the organisers do take note of this point. As for Wendyw, my advice is to forget about your loss and move on. That event called Marina Bay Market was a scam from the first place. The even mentioned that the event was supported by the Fullerton Heritage Board and I understand that a lot of people got cheated. The event was not approved by URA from the very beginning. The person that you liase with (Tina) was just a staff and there is nothing she can do. The original owner is someone called Azlin (Lynn). She is declared a bankrupt and currently residing in Kuala Lumpur. So....my advice is to forget and move on. Also, recently some people has been asking me advice on joining bazaars. My sincere advice to all the newbies is that be very careful when an event organiser ask your to transfer the money immediately. Ask for his company name and check with the building management whether such an event is confirmed. I understand that recently, there is an organiser who has already been asking and collected money from vendors for an event at Star Vista but still did not get the management approval because the police permit has not been approved yet. My opinion is any organiser should only start collecting payment upon confirmation from all relevant parties. In anyway, I wish all of you the very best of luck ! |
Re: Bazaar Scam
i urge anyone who had been scammed by ices zhang o jason zhang of ideal solution Pte Ltd to quckly lodge a police report. As some of the vendors had already done so. the more people lodging a report, the more severity the case is. Ices has been arrested on 9th Nov and is bailed out, he is warned by police to make refunds to all people who lodge the report. despite that he is still under going police investigation, he hasn't refunded any vendors so far (i know). on top of that, vendors, please be careful as he is still scamming actively telling people that he is hosting an event this mth in Expo.

Vendors, whether or nt we are competitors in this industry, we have to learn to help each other to avoid being cheated by scammers out there. If we build a strong & united group, the less scammers have their chance. This forum is a good base to start. Cheers! |

Re: Bazaar Scam
emailed kpopfiesta early dec for vivo refund..but according to him, he says he is processing the refund for JP first..after that, then will settle vivo...apparently, he is just buying time as to date, no refund has been made and JP one still not settle..how is this possible? How many refunds he has to make that could not be completed after 1mth??? Not sure how many booths for JP is he selling? For vivo, he is only marketing out 10 booths as claimed but it takes ages for him to do the refund...

Re: Bazaar Scam
don't waste time liao, file police report asap, and someone should contact the media (Zao Bao, Straits Times) to get this issue publicize so that (1) others who are affected but not in this forum is aware and (2) also serves as a warning to everyone else interested in doing future bazaars/events/fairs.

Re: Bazaar Scam
I have just filed a police report this morning as I have lost trust in the Kpopfiesta. I have given him numerous chance but there is still no sign he is refunding me back the money. I suggest anyone of you here still not be paid to file a police report.

Dear All,
I finally received my refund of $200/= after keep chasing for the $$$ for more than 2 months. |
Re: Bazaar Scam
Finally.......to wait for a refund after 2 months...... think organiser got no choice here........vendors should use this platform to work together and so that we do not see this kind of organiser in future.

Re: Bazaar Scam
I was PM by 2 of the members recently regarding an event that was supposed to be held at Orchard Central from 1st-31st March 2013.
Pls be very very careful. There is an organiser by the name of Vivian going around informing vendors that she has an event at Orchard Central from 1-31st March 2013. Vendors who are interested are supposed to pay a 50% deposit and the balance can pay the organiser on that day itself. This has a possible scam all written over it. 1) Firstly, most organisers would collect the full payment to confirm the booking. It is very rare that an organiser allow vendors to pay the balance 50% on the day of the event itself unless you know the organiser personally and are a regular to all her events. 2) Secondly, Orchard Central management is very very strict in allowing external organiser to organise events there. All vendors products have to be strictly submit to them for approval before able to join any event there. This organiser is accepting all sorts of vendors products without asking for any photos of products from vendors. Vendors who wish to participate in this event, pls check with the management of Orchard Central before making any payment to this organiser. For vendors who have paid the deposit to the organiser, I STRONGLY suggest that you ask the organiser to show you proof or evidence that she has confirmed secure the venue for the event. If not, pls ask for a refund from the organiser. Good Luck ! |
Re: Bazaar Scam
Kpopfiesta says have already refunded me but did not see any $ being credited back to my account. Asked him to check but no reply from him since then. I have finally lodged a police report against them..they leave me with no choice!

Re: Bazaar Scam
I FINALLY GOT MY REFUND. For the sake of those following up this thread, this is what happen:
Nov 05: Paid kopfiesta for vivocity event Nov 08: They took down the thread so i enquire to check, they reply same day saying that they are still sorting out details Nov 10: Request they put back the thread and indicate clearly that they are still sorting out the details. NO REPLY Nov 13: Request for refund til they confirm the event as no reply from them. They reply same day saying will confirm in 1 week Nov 18: Kpopfiesta email to inform cancel of event and asked for account for refund Dec 05: Refund not receive yet so enquire on status Dec 06: They reply say need to refund back jurong point event first Dec 31: Enquire again as still no refund. I told them should not take so long to refund back jurong point. How many vendors they have??? Jan 01: Kpopfiesta reply saying still got few more refund before vivo refund!! Jan 21: Still no refund from them so enquire and demanded that they settle my refund first Jan 22: kpopfiesta say refund back to my account already but from OCBC to my bank and need few working days Jan 30: Email them say i did not receive any, ask them to check Jan 31: kpopfiesta reply say will check and get back Mar 14: I email them again to check status as still no funds credited to my account and no reply from then since Jan31 Mar 20: No reply so far. So I email them again that no reply = police report and forum posting Mar 21: Finally, I lost my patience with them. I lodge a police report at 5.30pm and post on forum on failure of refund from kpopfiesta much later the same night Mar 22: They replied me and say have already credited to me few hrs/ days back..And i wonder, is few hours or few days? They do not know? Copy and paste their words: "HI We have alrdy paid back to u alrdy few hrs/days back, pls dun say thing we didnt, we make alrdy and it went to the wrong acc." If it is the truth, why are they not replying and updating me via email? And i just check my account, the $ has been credited and from the code, it should not be other bank transfer and which was just done the same day! 22 Mar 2013 ITR I-BANK kpopfiesta S$300.00 I guess the singapore police and the forum does the work. Hope the other affected vendors will get their money back. Or had already gotten their money back. Good Luck! |
