![]() Hi, anybody mind to share selling experience at bazaar in Orchard Hotel? This bazaar is organized annually. I plan to go but not sure whether it's worth or not. The rental fee is quite $$ so I need to gather some information before decide to go.

![]() I don't know who is the organizer. Yeah, the fair is organized on Tuesday & Wednesday...that's why I'm not sure with the crowd. Really need to find the information from the person who has done it before.

![]() Hi,
I participated in the orchard hotel bazaar 13th & 14th. Word of advice, don't sell beauty products at these fairs. I didn't even bother going back today so I left my table empty! I paid $380 per 3ft x 3ft table. It seems to attract only Expat clientle and some tourists. There was practically NO crowd and the ones that came were mostly friends of the regular vendors who were looking for new designs in clothing, baby stuff, home decor. It looks like the jewellery tables were doing brisk business but only for a short while before it started getting all quiet. The organizer is Sabrenu Dutt. It doesn't seem like there was much promotion for this bazaar,. It's just too much of a secret with the same old people I guess. Most of the vendors themselves are expat women and it seemed like one giant clique there. Some are nice but some are just plain snobbish. Well, if you're there and you're sandwiched between tables, you better hope for a nice neighbour or bring a friend so you can gossip when it gets quiet. Here's my take after observing for nearly 8 hours. Sell resort wear, you know the flowing upmarket batik/tropical patterns halter necked type of dresses with beads and sequins along the neckline? That was going like hot cakes even at $100+ a dress. The people who go there seem to love it. One lady there had some REALLY good designs, I'm wondering who her asian supplier is. Home decor. Wooden artifacts and pretentious looking baskets that probably cost close to nothing in indonesia and thailand were being sold at high prices but getting snapped up anyway. Handmade jewellery. Sell at your own risk as it seems ALOT are on sale, you must have regular customers who will come back to see your new designs. BABY STUFF! They all seem to love babystuff! but mind you, it must be unique, functional and of course, educational with cute colours no less and cannot be found at any NTUC, Metro, John Little Etc. So go find a good supplier from the States, quality and design can't be beat. Otherwise, Don't bother. |

![]() We just came back. Basically, the fair caters to expat crowd and I think it is by far the most successful among the hotel fairs (If you have went to the one at Goodwood Park, you'll know what I mean). It has been around for almost 10 years. I agree that only certain products sells, what do you expect if the main visitors are expats and tourist/hotel guests. Our sales are ok, we had some of our online customers who dropped by. And we distributed a lot of our cards, spread the word that we are online.
