![]() Hi all,
I'm a newbie, looking to import some men's fashion accessories (cufflink sets, tie clips, belts, etc) I'm also keen to learn more about how agents/forwarders work. Could someone share about their experiences with such agents for everyone's learning curves if possible? For example - would agents make a trip down to the factory & collect/check the goods themselves, consolidate with other shipments to SG, and then ship everything to SG? If anyone has any trusted agents that he/she has been using for a while, do PM me to recommend.. Thanks so much ![]() |

![]() The way agent work would differ from agent to agent. Some would offer to collect from the factory while others will call the factory to delivery to them. Most would require you to pay the factory & them upfront before they collect the goods.
Agents generally ask for 5%-20% of the value of the goods collected or a fixed price according to weight/work needed to be done on their part. I do have a trusted agent and I believe that a couple of people have as well. I don't think anyone would share the agent though. Its the main factor that much sets us at an advantage over others. Besides that, much time, effort and trials have to be done to build up the relationship over the years. |
