eBay is a very good platform to sell products. However, there are some 'dead' bidder who never response and make payment. Also, not all customers will leave a feedback after the transaction is completed.

that is true,some of them just ask so many questions,bid for the item and the end...disappears.Don't know what they are thinking???waste time to reply

Ya strongly agreed. Lucky it's est. only 1% to 3% is so or else if so many really faint!

i think is even harder to sell on ebay, very low cost margin.......

True, on the whole the things that sell well on ebay
are electronics and branded goods.
so, if you are able to acquire these at a low cost
and preferably brand new, you probably can make it.

I am planning to sell my stuff in ebay Singapore but was confused about the charges involved selling. Some posts say it is free in ebay Singapore but others say they charge for 3 pixs and more or add-ons. I am unable to locate the fee system in the ebay site. So would appreciate if you can clarify if there is charge or not and if there is, what are the items that will be charged. Thanks!

EBay Singapore has free listing fees . There are charges if you want additional features like (more than 3 pics, setting reserve prices, advert upgrades etc)

If you want to set up store, it costs a basic $5 per month

When item is sold and paid on PayPal, don't forget there is a processing fee by PayPal

IMHO each online platform has it different characteristics that suits different sellers.

As mentioned by someone else basic listing on eBay singapore is free. But eBay doesn't really provide any protection for buyers. In some cases Sellers can literally dissappear overnight after Buyers have paid online.

GMarket does provide some form of protection for the online buyer through holding payment in temporary escrow.

Amazon does offer opportunities for website and blog operators to earn money through referrals to the products on their sites. Basically you can earn a small commision for each confirmed sale by being a middleman without need to handle the tedious inventory, and delivery logistics etc.

Singapore does seem to have many smaller online stores and blog stores, the compettition seems to be even more intense than the US, taking into account the relative online retail market sizes of Sg and Us.
