my sales in vivo i also very bad now... it really start to slow down on early oct...dunno want is the problem... seem there is too many pushcart popping out all of a sudden. the pushcart beside me is worst., 2 days and zero sales.......

it must be the economic downturn. even those big shopping malls are affected, dun even say about your small business.

i dun think so ... my sale there are pretty good, it really depends on what u r selling and as well as the location.

Hmmm, kikiparpar. what are you selling if you don't mind. as i know . most of the pushcart in vivo is having sale problem...even for retail shop that is locate there.
if you are at b1 or 1 level... yes .i will believe sale is better.
anyway hope the year end period will be good.
but one think for sure... the pushcart is flooded in vivo... the one beside me that have zero sale is selling similiar item to mine.ain't the mangement going to screen before they put someone of similiar product close to each other?

no lei..my neighbour said last month their sales also very bad, cant even pay her worker..she say vivio is too big and shoppers prefer to buy the big brands..she also say the managment there very jialat..only help the shop owners and dun care much about pushcart vendors..which i think is very true..:eek:

Hmmm, it seem that only certain pushcart is having good sale.
Even for level 1 there is a pushcart that can't even survive for the Xmas season.they just put out two week ago. so i think the crowd is really looking ard instead of buying. so far my sale there is just break even for last month.
i have hold on just for the Xmas season ....hope every pushcart will benefit from that.

I am not sure if pushcarts have the same priviledge as shops in ViVo in terms of having access to some of the more prominent advertising space there ? (eg say a poster near the escalator). Are there possibilities that these posters costs are shared by a number of pushcart owners. Not if is these types of 'visual marketing' will help the situation, rather than waiting for shoppers to 'walk by'.

Yes, I believe that's the main reason, especially in vivo where by the crowd belong to those that are easily affected by the economy esp, young adults, young parent with kids...For me those big brands put me off in the current situation i rather shop elsewhere more pocket friendly. We usually go there for food than shopping.

But still, if your product is unique, or catch the vivo's crowd, still can be done:)

Maybe all the Vivo pushcart vendors can do a joint promo? Put resources together and print leaflets for distribution to shoppers. Can be A4 or DL size with 1 fold, divide the space into small little discount coupons, 1 coupon feature 1 promo from each vendor.

Or Lucky Dip? Each vendor sponsors a gift for the lucjy dip pool. When shoppers spend a certain amt., e.g $80 combined purchase from different vendor, they get a chance at the Lucky Dip.

Here's another inexpensive marketing idea vendors at Vivo can try. Get a video cam and do a short clip on each of the pushcart vendor. Get a shot of the pushcart, the vendor say something interesting about their products. Key idea is to make the clip funny and interesting. Which I believe is what pushcart vendors at Vivo are all about.... young entrepreneurs following their dreams :)

Then what do u do with the video clip? hehehehe UPLOAD onto YouTube! And see it viewed and get forwarded to everybody!

Oh yah, if you guys are planning to target the Xmas crowd, get the vendors to sing Xmas songs. That would be sooooooo cute :)

paisei hor all e long i been sharing ... just happen the one that i sure with now is pregnant liao so i have to find other vendor to take over her place.. is not like i letting out the whole unit... if u are odservant enough u can see my cart is divided into two different item...

hi recently i took over from somebody half pushcart at level 1, the sales was very bad!!!!!. My outside bazaars sales even so much better than the pushcart. I believe these place no buying power at all though how nice is your products.

angelqq, then just see how it go ... but one thing for sure. the overall sale in vivo have gone down ...cause all of a sudden. to many pushcart popped out.
They just want to share a pie for the chirstmas season. but eventually who is gaining?? the management loh

3.5 to 4.5k per mth depends on levels and peak or off peak period..:)

Everywhere is the same now for retail, recession. So try doing some promotion or sale. Xmas around the corner, hope for better.

People are going overseas for end of the year holiday. When they are back to Singapore, they may cut on their spending :)

Fancy,every year end ppl will tend to go oversea and for this year ...not much ppl will even think of going out as the situation for nearby countries is not stable. so i do not believe that the poor sale in vivo city in due to this reason.

ha ha... please please reconsider.
the sales there is so bad. this sat only manage to get 60 plus. not even good to cover staff...let alone rental.
now just hope my contact end and i will be happy!
Vivo is no longer a good place for us.

And these push cart landlords in big shopping malls are charging so high rent. It's ridiculous! Don't they know the push cart vendors have to compete with the big guns? Notwithstanding to also employ a sale assistant to mend store. So can those experienced vendors, pls enlighten us which items are doing well in big malls? Just curious. I got my own range of wine accessories.

Maybe its because the economic recession has set in... Many shops have closed down in the past few mths in SG. :(
