dun think able to sell homemade cakes on pushcarts. u may want to check with NEA on this. most likely they would require u to register a shop with a kitchen.

I agree. Most places do not allow selling of handmade food products as it's not safe. You will have to check with the organisers or apply for a food permit before you can sell.

Hi even if you have a central kitchen most shopping malls do not allow to retail food on push carts. I used to work for a cake company which have a central kitchen. I have called many shopping malls and they don't allow to sell food as it will clash with their tenants. So far cathay is quite open but it must be packaged.

yup agree with dearashiu. alt is try out fleas and bazaars. so far i only read from this forum that weekends allow for food items, but those selling f&b have to pay more for their booth, and limited such booths only.

hi dearashiu -- did cathay charge u more for the booth since for f&b items? but cathay doesnt seem to have much crowd. my fren used to work upstairs, even lunch they would try to go PS instead.

No they didn't charge me more, but I agree there is not much crowd so eventually we didn't get a push cart there. I tried SMU weekends bazaar before and the human traffic is really little. Unless you are very aggressive if not you may not make much. I only made enough to cover my rental plus it was so hot. But the popcorn stall beside me did have good sales but they are really aggressive

Hi all,
I am new to the forum. Greetings to all members.
I was as well looking for something like this. Understand from NEA site, that you should have a licensed proper kitchen from where your food items should come. All the employees involved in food handling should get a course done from WDA.
You can as well sell in MRT stations like raffles mrt exchange. But food should be prepacked and there is no electric/ water point. (from SMRT leasing webpage)

Another option is singapore expo. (I guess those pushcarts selling cup corn... ) In any method u still got to have a proper licensed kitchen in a proper shop kinda environment.

Does renting a central kitchen help in this option? Anyone can shed light on this part. Tks.

u can also prepare food in a food shop (e.g. a bakery) - nea license.
if central kitchen - ava license.

from what i last google, a central kitchen fully equiped with bakery equipment can be rented at $7k per month.

do note that other than wdq food hygiene course, the food preparers have to go for typhoid jabs every 3 yrs, above 45 yrs (if i recall correctly) have to go for xray.

Hi, i'm new here and would like to ask the experts opinion :)
if u bake the food (cakes or pastries) in ur own home, but pack them nicely (into boxes), would u still be able to sell them on push carts? or do u still need central kitchen and certified by ava in order to sell them?
Thank you in advance!

I doubt the pushcarts in Suntec allows F&B to be sold... Correct me if wrong.
