How to Start Food Business?
hi guys, i've noticed a couple of other threads on this but mine's slightly different. I intend to import packed snacks from abroad to sell in Singapore, possibly on a pushcart or online.
I read some of the requirements by the relevant authorities and found that food imported needs to have a certain kind of packaging to sell in Singapore. E.g the nutritional content by weight, where it is imported, expiry date, etc. My question is how I can change the packaging of the product? Should it be done by the importer or should I be the one doing it? Please advise, thanks very much all. |

depending on the quantity of your order, the manufacturer may be willing to change the packaging to suit your local needs. think u can check with sfma on this. for nutritional labelling, the guidelines are avail on ava website.

Thanks for your reply, pokerface. As i intend to first test the market, it'll be a small quantity that I'll be importing. In this case, what are the procedures to go about changing the packaging and labels, etc?

Re: How to Start Food Business?
Snack foods are now ubiquitous all over the world, hence a lot of universal corporations compete to capture the large shares of snack food market. To survive in this throat cut competition as well as improve the safety and appeal of these products, most appropriate snack food packaging is of great importance.
