Feedback on Marina Square & CityLink
Hey People!
I've seen boarded up shops at Marina Square and Citylink, is business there bad? I was thinking of getting a small shop and kiosk at Marina Square. Any comments or feedback welcomed! Probably be selling male apparels & timepieces! |

Hi meinteel, boarded up shops? 2 sides to a coin.... See it negatively means some shops cannot make it and left or lease contract expired but they didn't want to renew for whatever reason (no business, wrong location, good location but rental issue)... On the positive side, may be someone is moving in because they feel that that's a good place to do business! May be question is how often do we see such boarding up.... you may wish to find out who have moved out. Do a site survey, do you think that 2 places and in particular MSq, have your targeted consumers and with buying power, observe who are the people who frequent that 2 places and more importantly who actually buys. Gotta start somewhere... so if it feels right, just do it :D |
Re: Feedback on Marina Square & CityLink
agree with xoxoxo....but i feel it's due to the high rental n existing tenants find that they can't justify their overhead so move out after lease expire. It could be the mall is undergoing some upgrading & adjustments to the current concept so they are not taking in new tenants once the current one move out just like what u will see in OC.
Regardless of the above, if u see alot of hoardings all over the mall, thn is not a good sign to do business there now. Best to wait n observe to find out more info. It depends on which part of MSq & citylink, cos some areas there on weekdays is like ghost town with little traffic. Same case for Suntec. Doesn't look encouraging for retailers unless those big boys with deep pockets n strong financial backing can afford to burn $ n ride out the storm. |
