There's a shop in Ubi that sells second-hand equipment for the F&B industry. My acquaintance managed to get a used cash register still in good working condition for S$160 (S$600+ new). Let me try to get the contact details and post them up here.

Dear all

Please be careful with this Asmond guy. He will makan you in terms of price if you sees you are inexperienced.

He once sold my friend a small little 2nd hand aluminium sink for $350. My friend took it because he thought small ones are hard to come by. Unfortunately, my friend later saw something similar for less than $200, brand new.

Avoid him if you are a newbie.

pokerface, that place sells everything you can find in a typical restaurant and cafe. Apart from cash registers, expect to see refrigerators, furniture, kitchen counters, etc.

Not sure about this Asmond guy, but my acquaintance got her second-hand cash register for S$160, which was a steal. To be fair, I'm not sure if she was experienced in such matters.
