you get rich doing what you love. That's how!

I can say, I wasn't passionate enough when I was in it for 7 years.... but like I've said before in my 'earlier' thread, I have no regrets! Its an experience that can really 'build up' a person's character....

do what your heart feels, and again-rule of the thumb: please do your research first....:)

In fact , it's not a SURE DIE thing to enter this industry. I must agree with what other forumer said ... If you have passion , u can do it. there are quite some pushcart owners that is earn a decent amount. There are many successful cases... If you like it, if you have tat passion, give it a try... work hard and you should be able to excel :) if you wanna start, pm me.. see how i can advise u or help ya out with supplies.

Sometimes, its a try and die thing. If you're thinking of buying and selling, makes sure you can stand to lose the amt of $.

Hmmm well.... that sound just like me as well.... when it comes to business... I know nuts.... =P
For the longest time, I am interested to try out some kind of biz but I'm totally lost...
Anyway, I'm into accessories-making, using wires and crystals etc.
I can make customized earrings/necklaces/bookmarks/figurines and stuff, just wonder if they are really that sellable.
Well if anyone of your guys are planning to sell things along that line, I suppose we can have a little chat over coffee and discuss.
I can also show you guys a few samples... Heehee... ^_^

Re: Starting a retail business ...

It was very interesting to read the whole thread. I realise there are many people out there young or old who loves doing fashion and accessories. No wonder there are so many shops out there with stiff competition! I have the same dream as cashmere but i am scared too. I notice so many shops close down and many warnings from friends about losing money. i am a retiree and hope to do some small business to earn some money maybe not to get rich but to be able to support myself. I wish to target at the aunty group and my strong asset is customer service (I sold at hotel fairs before). Any suggestions where I could fit in? Meantime, if any body need staff on certain days, pls pm me. I swear I can be trusted! Need to do some work to survive and also to find out the market trends. Look forward to any advice! Cashmere had u open ur shop yet?
