Exclamation Questions on Employers Liability

Dear fellow members,

I was interviewing some staff for my shop that will open in March and it dawned on me are we covered under the employment act?

Do we need to pay our part-timers CPF?

Can we employ expat's wives as part time sales assistance.

Really need to find out about this.

Looking forward for some light.

Regards

Edmund

Hi there,

I'm a student that study Human Resource.

As far as i'm concern, as long as the pay is below $500 per month, there will not be a need to pay CPF.

As for the employment's act, it will only be viable to those that is under contract of services, meaning, there will be a contract stating everything like number of working hours, number of leaves, etc.

You can read more of it at http://www.mom.gov.sg/publish/mompor...mployment.html

Hope this helps.

By law, you have to pay CPF for anything above S$50 monthly.
