![]() Hi, do I need to register a company before selling via a pushcart?
As I saw someone selling via a pushcart without cash machine, I wonder if the registration is compulsory. ![]() |

![]() how does cash machine = registered? I haven't sold on a push cart before, but i would think you do, since you will be doing transaction with a registered company. They like their accounts clean.

I think probably you might have mixed up with the registration of a company with a cash register(machine). They are not linked. According to the dictionary a cash register is a machine that tabulates the amount of sales transactions, makes a permanent and cumulative record of them, and has a drawer in which cash can be kept. Which means it is only a tool for you to keep track of your sales. I can be a registered retailer selling via pushcart or shop, but if I am comfortable with just using a pouch, a container or even just my pockets to keep my sales transaction, why not? Being a registered company doesn't make you compulsory to use a cash register(machine). It is really up to individual of how you want to keep track of your sales. From what I know, you will need to register as a company to rent a pushcart unless you talk about asking someone to spare you a space or part of the pushcart that they have rented using their company name. Correct me if I am wrong or if I have misunderstood your questions. Regards |

![]() yes Meng Hui. You need to register before you start a proper business. Shopping malls will not allow you to rent their pushcarts without a business liscense. Must register with ACRA.
