thinking of renting shop in Tg Ktg area, the rental per mth is $1,400. what is takeover $5K? thanks. do u think selling clothing is good business?

Normally, the previous tenant will charge take over fee for either existing renovation or deposit paid to the management.

In Oct 2008, u asked the forum how to start a retail business and u mentioned about Tg ktg.
In Jul 2009, u posted to say that u love to do pushcart biz.
In Apr 2010, u posted to say that u want to do online biz, asking the forum on how to get started.
In May 2010, u asked the forum if it is profitable to sell kuehs and Nasi Lemak at pushcart.
In Jul 2010, u posted to say u are interested to open a spa!
And today u are back again, asking about clothing retail shop. Takeover $5k means u are taking over that persons' shop for $5k but u need to find out what does that $5k covers - Renovation? Fixtures & Fittings? Stocks? Security Deposit? Rental? and if it is a takeover, how many more months are u allowed to operate i.e. what is the remaining lease period? Do your research, find out what's the crowd/traffic flow at Tg Ktg.

No offence but it appears that u have not taken much action despite the advices given by fellow forum mates. Have you done your research? No point keep asking and not taking any action. If 2 years down the road u still have doubts about going into the retail business (and this is very common among many of us because to go into business requires lots of guts and of course lots of money to burn sure helps :laff: ) then perhaps entrepreneurship is not for you, 9-5 jobs can sometimes be better. Save your energy for a better 9-5 job performance bah! :laff:

If u are serious about going into clothing retail, my friend has some excess stocks of ladies wears to let go at $10 each, pretty good for new start-ups/fleas/bazzar. If u interested then pm me, I get her to send over the pictures. Good luck!

Nothing to be amazed. Just a click of a button and u can see all the postings (3pages) in this forum and it is pretty easy to see who started the thread. I just noted that she keeps asking similar questions so I went back to the previous postings and did a quick summary. This way it is easier to help her because her postings revealed that she is not at all ready to tackle the business world. :juggle:

I don't understand yr motive XOXOXOX, why must u list down all those, i don't understand why r u so so free to find all those and good memory too, amazing. Move on...i am asking for now not the past, of course i am not forgetting all those ideas, but wanted to open biz badly, really at lost what to do at certain times, is it so wrong to post again here, i am thankful to whoever is very patience to guide me and help. i am hoping someone can help breakthru my confusion

yeah u r right, i am not ready, but wanted so badly to be in it, just not sure and confuse but i love really wanted badly but really really i don't know where, how to start, i wanted to open clothing retail shop cos i love fashion, but afraid no biz and don't knwo where, how to get those nice stuff to sell that could sell, and 2nd mind i love to open spa but also at lost, so now i am so lost, all i hope is to hlep me see thru. thank you

I have no motive and the only reason why I list them down is because it is easier to see the whole picture of where u are currently standing and I am not free but I am trying to help by listing them down your previous questions so that we or those who want to help can take a step back and look at the whole big picture. If u think my words are too harsh and u can't given take criticisms then how are u going to handle your customers next time?

You mentioned that u are "afraid no biz and don't knwo where, how to get those nice stuff to sell that could sell," which is why I asked you if have u done your research? I think quite a few forum mates have made suggestions but it seems like u keep ranting on and on about being confused. Perhaps the one who ought to moved on is you.

So if I suggest for you to either take up some courses so that u learn something about business management to get started or perhaps gain some real life experience by working in a fashion shop (of course bosses will not share everything with you but u will then have learn as much as u can and at least know how to operate a retail outlet), will u do it or will u come back and ask the same questions again? Of course it is not wrong to post again and u can post as many times as you and the administrator like but what I'm trying to tell you is you can be confused for the rest of your life and you can ask the same questions again and again but if u keep doing what u are doing, you will keep getting what u are getting now! Good luck! :D

I think u are too stress out from work. Perhaps what u need to do is to take a break from your full-time job, sit back and think carefully what do you really want to do, and whether u have the capability and financial ability to start anything. Plan properly and take that very first baby step towards your goal.

Not that I am so free to go searching for your post but I want to highlight the fact that it seems to be the same problem you are facing that didn't seem to be resolved when others have probably already started their online selling.

So have u contacted MyFashionPalace and ShadyOne for their products as mentioned in your cry-for-help thread or even hook up with them to learn more about online selling. If u have not, do consider.

ok, I think I've said enough, and have probably pissed you off totally by now :p but do remember, Pushcart forum is one of the best place where we can meet different people from different walk of life, where we can be learn from one another, but ultimately success or not, it depends on ourselves. We can sit there and dream and dream and dream but our dream will only come true when we wake up and TAKE ACTIONS!:yippee:

ctcart, my suggestion to you is "Just do it".

You can never find a perfect environment to start a business, you just learn along the way to adapt your business strategies and earn profits.

If you have lots of cash to start with, you can go straight to opening a retail stores.

If you don't have, go for flea market to learn the consumer tastes and sharpen your judgement. It doesn't cost much to startup a flea business. Along the way, save up the capital to open the retail stores if your ultimate aim is to open retail store.

Its not a guarantee of success or failure but at least you can tell yourself you did try.
