Re: Bazaar at Orchad Hotel
Then you are certainly in the minority who thinks that way. I walked around and spoke to the other vendors and most said it was way too quiet.
So basically your participation in the fair was great to draw people to your site, right? What about people who seriously need to sell stuff or those without an online biz? It's best for people going into these fairs to understand that there were some folks who just set up albums of their services and left name cards and flyers on the table and just sat there. According to them, it was cheaper than advertising in the Straits Times! This is very telling in that the organiser is taking in anyone who's willing to pay for the table. This fair used to be very successful with vendors lining up for tables. . These days, it seems that the organiser is chasing after the vendors and I'm pretty sure the regulars are paying less for their tables. I've been to goodwood park and that is why I signed up for this one but it would seem it's not all it's cracked up to be. Go to her site and you'll see the SAME vendors listed at all her fairs. Anyone new doesn't get a mention. Even the brochure doesn't have anything specific to say. Actually i didn't expect anything despite knowing the crowd would be mostly expats and tourists other than there would be enough of this crowd to go around. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. No fault of the organiser if less people are coming to singapore and there are only so many expats here, most are weary of these fairs with the same old vendors. By the way, it would be helpful to those who are planning to participate if you could mention what type of items you were selling since you managed to get some sales. Quote:

Re: Bazaar at Orchad Hotel
We sell baby stuff. I think it helps that we have a variety of goods and my partner had been to the fair before. So we sort of know what to expect and the type of goods that would move. But according to my partner, the last one she did at Orchard Hotel has more visitors.

Re: Bazaar at Orchad Hotel
Thanks for the replies! I decided not to follow the bazaar at Orchad Hotel...but I participated in other bazaars....in 2008 and 2009...all very quite. The rents are higher than what I earned, no profit at all.
