Market for Take Away Food
 

Hi,

i would like to know the opinion from all. I have this idea of setting up a small kiosk for take-away food. I already have in mind what to sell. Something like Old chang kee. Deep fried stuff..in many style. I have my own brand and concept to work with.

I am looking at small kiosk to minimize rental fee.

Is there market for this?

would you pay $2 for a snack?

But $2 is quite ex comparing to old chang kee.

I suggest you survey the market by talking to people working in raffles place and tanjong pagar.

The food here is expensive. You may have a market because some people may not want to q at the long q at old chang kee and buy from you.

can get cheaper & tasty food at raffles place and tanjong pagar.. amoy hawker nearby.

choose ur location wisely too. if nearer to raffles mrt, perhaps can command a better price. tanjong pagar quite near to amoy & maxwell

$2 seem reasonable. but the main approach is the take away. Quick n easy. My opinion, the packing of the food. do it something different, as customer can hold and eat as they walk.

Make sure to secure permits from the venue owners as well as the Department of Health as required in your state. Read books or take a class on food handling and preparation to ensure your food options are safe for consumption. You can also seek help from local and professional organizations to help you with things like funding and capital.
