Hi all,

I got some doubts for importing goods into Singapore. Hope bro and sis here can help...

As i am importing clothes and earrings from China, may i know do i have to apply any licenses or pay some tax? or I just need to pay my supplier the postage fee and everything is done?

Hi Are your item samples only?

if send by courier service like dhl, fedex,if you got account with them, the gst will be debited from yr account.

if big items, you need to apply from customs for a permit

Thanks daniel3,

I would be ordering around 30k pieces of earrings. Do you think must apply from custom? Or if I choose DHL then no need custom for permit?

Regards,
Wilson Wong

regarding your question..
1.regardless of self consume or sample or ... goods less than SGD$400, there is no GST.
2.depends of the place your supplier, BKK, you need to pay another agent fees to clear custome from S'pore custom, (airport or port), within 48hrs upon arrival. China no need, you may have to find an agent from there, they able to settle everything, for you, you jus need to sit at home n wait.
Hope it's help you..

Why import ear rings from China?Sell unique accessories like handmade that will caught gals attention.. Import accessories from China is a NO NO.. Many of my friends got cheated by China people.. They always give empty promises and when they received your money you email to them is already no use.. It is better you go there n pick yourself.. China is a big country and you cant trust their people even though we are Chinese..

Hi Cos you did not check yr suppliers well enough.
I have been working with china suppliers for the past 3-4 years, all go well.

What you can do in singapore,
malaysia can do it 2x cheaper.
china can do it 10x cheaper.

No offence
For handcraft earring, bracelets, unless customers are willing to pay
S$19.90 to S$29.90 to buy from you.How to earn?

you go bugis,a lot of people can do customised earrings, even my small niece is also selling online.

Handmade accessories are unique and if you go to Bugis, there is no customised accessories unless silver or 925silver.. If you go to Bugis, all is imported accessories from China.. There is not sense of creative juice and they are selling very cheap.. If gals have class they won wear such an cheapo accessories.. I support local jewellery designers and I strongly encourage them to give customers a reasonable price..
Count yourself lucky to have a China supplier that you had liaised with for so many years.. Not many people can find such a China supplier like you.. Wad I will suggest not to trust them too much as China people are hard to trust and they are famous for cheating people money..
