Freight Forwarders
Hope you guys can help - sorry if these questions have been asked before - here goes:
I want to bring in goods from China to Singapore, as I understand it if I am receiving trade samples with value less than $400 i don't need to pay GST or make any customs declaration. What I need to know id how you guys go about importing larger quantities of goods which will be subject to GST? Do companies like DHL and FedEx clear customs paperwork for you or do I need to engage a freight forwarding agent? If so can you recommend any good ones?? Thanks for your help |
Re: Freight Forwarders
PM replied. I forgot to add in my reply, if you use DHL or Fedex, they will automatically do everything for you and deliver goods to your doorsteps. I think they will call you 1st if there is GST involve (can't remember liao, long time never use their service).
Cheers |
Re: Freight Forwarders
OK - for those who are interested - I found a freight forwarder who will clear my goods if necessary. These are their charges:
TERMINAL HANDLING CHARGES - SGD25.00 (MIN) OR SGD0.15/KG IMPORT HANDLING CHARGES - SGD90.00 (MIN) OR SGD0.30/KG 7% CUSTOMS GST - AS ACTUALS This seems very reasonable to me - any comments?? |
