Re: Rental Of Pushcarts
Hey pal, what items are you intending to sell? Most push carts in city areas are quite expensive close to 3K-5K and require u to rent for minimum 3 months.. So far the rates i know at Far East Plaza and orchard cineleisure are the cheapest, about 1.5-2K. Normally the procedure is to contact the plaza's management office directly. You can pm me , i can give u the contacts if u require.. Have u tried selling at flea markets? :)

Re: Rental Of Pushcarts
The cheapest Push Cart in Singapore is at Orchard Central ($500 per month) and Far East Square ($1,200). The most important thing is not about the rental fees but the traffic flow. You can try the cheapest push cart in town but the traffic might be very low.
The 2nd thing is to know what product are you selling and your targeted market. If you are new and do not have a lot of products to sell, I would suggest that you share a pushcart with another person. This way, you could lower the rental and staff costs. Get a pushcart with good traffic rather than a cheap pushcart with low traffic. This way, you will be able to gauge whether your product can survive in the market. Managing a pushcart might look simple but actually there are a lot of things that you need to prepare. It is not easy money and you must be prepared to work hard and to always think of ways to improve your sales. You have to think about how to decorate your pushcart, how to make sure your products stand out in the pushcart, how to display your products so that you can maximize your pushcart space, what happens when your staff last minute cannot come to work, what do you do when sales is not good, etc That is the reason why I suggest that if you are new to pushcart, share it with another vendor. In this way, you get to learn more things as well as to lower your overall costing. If you need further advise, you can always PM me and I will try my best to assist you. Good Luck :) |

I am interestered in selling kids clothing, currently i am doing online but sales not very good, any ideas or suggestion??:laff:

Re: Rental Of Pushcarts
Hi JustLoveKidz,
Honestly, selling online is not an easy business to make money. If selling online is easy, everybody who has an outlet will opt for online business rather than to pay the high rental fees for their outlet. Anyway, the most important thing with selling online is how to get the right traffic to your website. How do you promote your website? The other thing is to know whether you have the products that attracts the large crowd. You might think that it is good product but other people might not agree with you. I would suggest that you try out selling your products at bazaars or flea market to gauge how well your product sells. Joining a bazaar or flea market is much cheaper than owning an outlet or even a pushcart. Also, you can always spread about your website thru bazaar or flea market. Nowadays there are a lot of events going on in Singapore so do try them out. Good Luck :) |

Re: Rental Of Pushcarts
For those who are interested to see all the pushcart rental price listing, maybe you can upgrade your membership to Premium. After you have upgraded, you can find the info that you required from the Retail Resources side.
By the way, the rental of the pushcart depends on the location and also the management decision. It DOES NOT depends on what you are going to sell :) Only thing is that there are certain products that are not allowed to be sold at certain places because of conflict of interest. For example, you are not allowed to sell ladies dresses at Chevron House because there are a lot of boutique around that area selling the same thing. Most importantly, you must check with the management or organiser. Good Luck! |
Re: Rental Of Pushcarts
hi
Does anyone has the contact for Chevron House if I would like to rent a push cart there??:confused2: |

Re: Rental Of Pushcarts
Hi,
I'm interested to share a pushcart too. I'm selling bags and ladies apparel. Currently I rent a space at The Blogshop at Haji Lane. Sales not really good thus intend to change to pushcart instead. If you are selling ladies apparel and wanna share, I don't mind only sell bags. :) Also I got a question, online store and pushcart, which is better? As I'm now stuck on whether should I open a pushcart or just focus on online store and go to flea. But the bad thing for flea is need to take a lot of stuffs and it is really difficult for me as I'm handling alone. Can give me some advice? Thank you :) |
Re: Rental Of Pushcarts
If you have budget, then you should try out pushcart selling your bags or apparels. Since you mention that you do this alone and going to flea or bazaar might be difficult. There are a few things that you need to take note though.
1) If budget is not an issue (if you have about 2-3K to spare), you should try out pushcart rather than Online Shop. You main objective is to see if your products can sell. Just because your online shop is not doing well, does not mean your products cannot sell. It could be that not a lot of people knows about your online shop and honestly speaking, it is not easy to drive lots of traffic to your online shop easily. It takes years. 2) You need to know which is your target customer. If your products are very cheap, you can sell in a lot of heartland mall pushcart. If your products are target to office crowd with higher spending power, then you should take up pushcart near office area. Some of the examples pushcart you can take up is like Novena Square, Icon Village & Chevron House. You told me that you sell your stuff at Haji Lane which means that your product should not be that cheap. If so, try not to sell in heartmall mall pushcart as most of the people sell very cheap bags and apparels. I've nothing against them. Just different market. 3) Year End is coming so if you want to take up a pushcart, pls be quick as usually the period between Nov-Jan is very good especially in office area. Office people will also get their bonus which means that higher spending power. They will also buy more things during Christmas period as most office has gift exchange. 4) Chevron house is fulled for Nov-Dec. You can always try either Icon Village or Novena Square. Think they still has a few pushcart for year end. Anyway.....just my opinion. Good Luck! |
Re: Rental Of Pushcarts
Hi all,
I'd be selling shoe accessories and am also looking at sharing a push cart. I think my product matches very well with accessories and I will be targeting mainly office crowds. Dan xuan/Glamourous- you wanna share? I am looking at Nov to Jan period. Dindong - Can you help us on getting a pushcart? |
Re: Rental Of Pushcarts
I have already mentioned earlier that if you are targetting office crowd, you should try Chevron, Icon Village & Novena Square. Unfortunately, Chevron is full till end of the year. That leaves you gals to try Icon Village or Novena Square. I guess the contacts of Icon Village and Novena Square can be found on this website. Pls take some effort to find out cos it is not that difficult. Besides, I'm not allowed to post contact here. Be quick.....year end is coming. People who are experienced know that this is the time of the year to make money. Good Luck!

Re: Rental Of Pushcarts
where exactly is Icon located? Anybody who have tried this place can give some feedback. Looking for a pushcart for this christmas.
|
Re: Rental Of Pushcarts
Icon Village is directly behind Amara Hotel. You cannot miss it one. Tried this place in April and May and business was OK. The good thing is this place environment is very good and relaxing. The other vendors also very helpful. The bad thing is that they limit every product category to a certain booth in this place. Wanted to take Nov and Dec but was told that vendors selling accessories is already full and cannot accept anymore :(
