Default Bedok Mall

Singapore – Christmas celebrations at Bedok this year will be merrier with the addition of a new neighbour. Bedok Mall (勿洛广场), the first major shopping mall in Bedok located right in the heart of the town centre, will be welcoming shoppers on 3 December 2013 with a series of festive promotions and activities.

The 220,000-square foot mall – about the size of Junction 8 – has about 200 shops spread across three floors from Basement 2 to Level 1. All units have been leased ahead of the mall’s opening.

Basement 2 of the mall will house everyday essentials, including FairPrice Finest, Popular, Home-Fix, Japan Home, Guardian and Watsons. This level has also assembled an array of quick bites to serve shoppers on the go, such as Gong Cha, Ho Kee Bao, Hong Kong Sheng Kee Dessert, Hot Star Large Fried Chicken, Smoothie King and Yoshinoya.

Located on Basement 1 will be a variety of lifestyle, apparel and family-trade retailers, including UNIQLO, Best Denki, Samsung, Sony Centre, Cotton On, Fox Kids & Baby, Kiddy Palace and The Travel Store. Level 1, positioned as the “chic avenue”, will bring together home-grown and international fashion and accessories labels, including Cache Cache, Charles & Keith, Dorothy Perkins, G2000, Levi’s, Net, Santorini and Wanko.

On top of these well-loved brands, Bedok Mall will be introducing a number of new concepts. These include Sembonia, the Malaysian purveyor of quality leather goods, which is opening its Singapore flagship store at the mall. Another new concept is women’s fashion store Roem, which specialises in romantic and feminine clothing inspired by Korean and European styles. Faces of Spade, a collaboration between homegrown fashion label Spade and trendy bag label Faces Places, will likewise make its market debut. Also new on the scene is Refresh Laser Clinic, an aesthetic clinic providing laser treatments and non-invasive clinical facials.

On the F&B front, Wingstop, a popular buffalo-style chicken wings franchise from the United States with over 580 outlets, will make its Asian debut. Guan Chee Hong Kong Roast, which started in a coffee shop and subsequently found success operating in food courts, will be opening its first stand-alone restaurant. Also operating its first stand-alone restaurant at Bedok Mall is Ottoman Kebab & Grill, which started as a food court stall offering Turkish-style kebabs and grilled meats.

Further tempting diners’ taste buds are Vietnamese restaurant Pho Street, which will serve Vietnamese street food with a focus on Southern Vietnamese fare; and Junshin Express, which will offer healthy fruit and vegetable sushi. Both are new-to-market brands.

Other new F&B concepts at Bedok Mall include: Greendot, which will serve a variety of meat-free fast food prepared in fusion style; Scallop-Q, a concept originating from Taiwan which will dish up Hokkaido fresh scallops grilled in a special sauce; and Paik’s Bibimbap, a Korean fast food concept selling healthy bibimbap and bibim noodles by renowned celebrity chef Jang Wan Paik – who was also behind the successful Korean BBQ chain BORNGA.

These F&B new entrants add on to an extensive list of established restaurants setting up shop at Bedok Mall, including Canton Paradise, C-Jade HK Café, Dian Xiao Er, Din Tai Fung, Itacho Sushi, McDonald’s, Menya Musashi Takatora, Pizza Hut, Pepper Lunch, Poulet, Ramen Play, Starbucks, Swenson’s, Tim Ho Wan and Thai Express.

Mr Kevin Siew, Development Manager of Bedok Mall, said, “After two years in the making, we are excited to unveil Bedok Mall on 3 December in time to celebrate this Christmas with our shoppers. Bedok Mall’s positioning is built on 3 ‘C’s, namely ‘choice’, ‘convenience’ and ‘connectivity’. With the mall’s extensive offerings, prime location in the heart of Bedok Town Centre, as well as excellent connectivity to the major transport nodes and the rest of the neighbourhood, we are confident that in time, Bedok Mall will become the heart of the Bedok estate.”
