Buona Vista and Orchard to Welcome Two New Malls

Buona Vista and Orchard Road will each see a new mall, in September this year and the second half of 2013 respectively.

CapitalMalls Asia’s The Star Vista mall at Buona Vista is scheduled to open in September, featuring a variety of retail and restaurant options.

The new lifestyle destination will offer 163,000 sq ft of net lettable area (NLA) and over a hundred shops across three levels. Cold Storage will be housed in a 7,000 sq ft space in the complex’s basement, aside from F&B brands and a 5,000-seat theatre.

More than half the units have already been leased out at rental rates of between S$14 and S$18 psf.

Meanwhile, the Orchardgateway integrated development will soon include a new mall, which will integrate the library@orchard and the Singapore Visitors Centre@Orchard.

Stretching from 218 Orchard Road to 288 Orchard Road, the mall will comprise 180,000 sq ft of leasable space across six floors, including two basement levels.

Orchardgateway also includes an 11-storey office-retail development, to be called the orchardgateway@emerald, and a 20-storey hotel-retail development next to Somerset MRT station.

The fashion mall is set to house fashion and lifestyle brands, along with F&B establishments. The segment which sits on the old Orchard Emerald site will be home to the 18,000 sq ft, lifestyle-oriented library@orchard by 2012. Its 500-room hotel will be managed by Shangri-La group as its second Traders hotel in Singapore.

Orchardgateway will also have direct access to Somerset MRT station and cover the remaining part of Discovery Walk.

Savills Singapore was appointed as the marketing consultant for both the mall and office building.
