IMHO each online platform has it different characteristics that suits different sellers.

As mentioned by someone else basic listing on eBay singapore is free. But eBay doesn\'t really provide any protection for buyers. In some cases Sellers can literally dissappear overnight after Buyers have paid online.

GMarket does provide some form of protection for the online buyer through holding payment in temporary escrow.

Amazon does offer opportunities for website and blog operators to earn money through referrals to the products on their sites. Basically you can earn a small commision for each confirmed sale by being a middleman without need to handle the tedious inventory, and delivery logistics etc.

Singapore does seem to have many smaller online stores and blog stores, the compettition seems to be even more intense than the US, taking into account the relative online retail market sizes of Sg and Us.
