If you want, you can build 'do it yourself' websites.
I have tried 2- corecommerce/ webs.com and they are both good.

U can use weebly or hostgator. Weebly can try and upgrade a main domain if u like. Hostgator is cheap. Or, just like one said d.i.y yourself. Don't spend too much on this. Can save on promotion your web.

You may consider subscribe to eCommerce site instead of creating a website. Reason being that your website may be invisible for a long period of time unless you throw in a lot of money to bring in traffics (Search Engine Optimization).

Since you going to spend money to build a website, why not consider to leverage on eCommerce website that has well integrated with online payment gateways, SEO optimized, tons of templates to choose from etc. Once you have build up the traffic then only consider to register a domain name to link up with your online shop.;)

you don;t really need to spend a lot of money on building a website, or even a ecommerce website.

If you get the right guy, you can get it done at a relatively low price, at the same time, throw in some SEO deals.

At least that's what i do for my cilent.

I have a trainer to recommend, PM if you need to learn how to create websites yourself. It's perfectly ok to learn it on your own but time consuming and if you have a good guidance or mentor, it cuts down your learning curve.
