Is Hosting + Domain S$70/year reasonable?

It depends on which company you are hosting it with.

How much is your bandwidth? If it is in SG, do they share your international bandwidth, etc.

How much space do you get?

Which data center is the server located?

Does it include dedicated IP address?

and so on

Actually depends de.

Hosting in singapore will cost more expensive. But your singapore customer will get to see your website faster as in faster connection speed.

Hosting in us is super cheap. Can be as low as $2 per month.

So it depends on what you want. You pay for a more expensive host for zero down time. Domain for a .com you can get it at cheap price at namecheap.com or goddaddy.com at usd9.99 .

Just my 2 cents

If you are targeting solely to Singapore market, hosting in Singapore is fine. However, you have to remember that there are large number of people connected to internet in North America + Europe.

Since all Singapore hosting only provides 10Mbps/100Mbps shared bandwidth with hundred/thousand of servers, your site will be crawling outside Singapore. Hence, you are turning away those large number of people and your search engine position outside .com.sg will suffer.

For a price of $70 / year it would be:
Minus $10 for domain.
The rest $60 divide by 12 months = $5.

You're paying $5 per month for... what's the space and bandwidth given? In my opinion, $5 per month is the normal rate, not the cheapest one though. (Of course also not the most expensive one.)

I am paying $120 to a company to host my domain and the speed is very fast.I used to pay $80 per year but when my website encounter heavy traffic it became very slow and even cannot find my website. So the company suggested I pay more for for a higher bandwith.
If you paying $70 is not only reasonable is a good deal.

pretty, again, it depends on what you are looking at. 1mbps and 3 mbps (as an example) would have different price. Although price is not always the most impt factor. If your target market is SG, you might find a cheaper price elsewhere but during heavy traffic hours, you might not be able to access your website easily as its a bandwidth problem. Also, what bandwith and backbone the company is using is also a factor. In singapore, its relatively limited to ADSL, if i'm not wrong. But if you're taking a overseas server. you could be looking at T1, T3 or even dial-up!

It still consider resonable if that is a unlimited package. If it is normal small package, that it would be expensive. Mostly those price of hosting to provide you TLD domain only. If you would like to find country domain name plus hosting with that price. It is posible but you need to find.
