Create My Online Store
 

Hi,

I have a very simple website now but I intend to turn it into a online store.
Below are the requirement I need for an online store

1) Account -->previous order
-->My Account -->Change of account information
-->Change account password
-->My orders--> show customer previous only
2) Shopping cart
3) Check out for order
4) Register/Login
5) Search option (for the ease of customer to find our products)
6) Currencies

I do not want to engage a web desginer and I am thinking of doing it myself.
Is there anywhere I can learn how to do these?

The features that you listed are definitely supported by all the open-source shopping cart script.

For something simple, i would recommend you to look at prestashop.

I did it myself. Frankly speaking, dont waste any money paying someone to create a shopping cart.

If you are not familiar with it, you can always get a hosting company which provide an ecommerce installation free. eg. installatron, fantastico, etc. Join the cart's community forum and read their manual.

Save your $ elsewhere or transfer to me :D

I am thinking of doing it myself.

It would depend on whether you have any experience with hosting, domain, etc.

Installation + initial configuration may take you around 2-4 hours.

If not, you may have to spend days to learn and read the manual.

I already have my website.
If I want to add those item which i mention earlier to it, is it possible?
or I have to recreate a website?

Sherney, I was using one called on.sg. the bad part about them is that they are not contactable by phone, only email. just check around online, then ask the ppl here to see if anyone has complaints. then you can know what the market is like.

Assuming you have a product you want to sell then another option you can try is to list your products on something like eBay or another online store in Singapore.
