Selling knowledge Online?
 

Hi

Anybody know of a solution to sell knowledge online? perhaps in the form of a PDF file.

E.g. if I am an expert in making thousand layer cake and want to sell my recipe to people all over the world. is there a website where I can place my recipe, and people can make payment and then receive the recipe? I do not want to maintain my own website.

you can probably look into the possiblity of creating an e-book.

there are afew ebook softwares online and the best thing abt ebook is, once purchased and downloaded, the ebook recognises the buyer's comp and thus, does not allow the buyer to share and pass to other people..

yup. there are many solutions you can consider.

however, the best way to market will eventually be having your own website so that you can do things like
a) running affiliates program to help you market more
b) keeping the customer database so you can sell more things
etc etc

Knowlegde is usually sold in e-book form, maybe you can type e-book in search engine and see what info you can get ?

I will second that.

You can start visiting community that shares the same interest with you as well. Maybe you can start by exchanging ideas and etc. When your e-book is ready, you already have a good head start as you can offer the book to those people first.

If you really want to make it success, you'll need a database and keep in touch with them constantly.

Just to set your expectation right, it is NOT EASY to sell online. What makes your 'product' (in this case recipes) stands out from the thousands and thousands of similar ones out there? I am not saying it is impossible but it is going to be hard and a lot of perseverence is needed to see it though. Cheers!

Hi, hope to give you a piece of advice here. Please do keyword research on whether the product is sellable. It is very easy to create the product in pdf but if the online market does not want it, it would not be profitable for you and it is time consuming to sell a product online. Cheers.

Suggest you take up some basic internet skills course to build up your foundation first. Those in the form of a PDF file is call an ebook. It's not difficult to set up your own website actually, it's the driving of traffic to your website to view your products.
