In the long run, isnt it cheaper for you to purchase a better camera + lenses?

A good photographs you can capture with good camera with very good lens. It helps you to capture good photographs. There are professional cameras available for photographers, I am using Nikon camera last three years, without any problem.

But consider the screen size and resolution, I think a 3Mp camera is more than enough.

May be my requirement is very low, I use my handphone to take product photo for last 2 to 3 years.

I'll spend more time on the shooting angle, lighting and photo editing (i.e. add description)

Yes 3mega is good enough,important is you must learn editing.
