Otherwise, perhaps you can request for his friend's details and u liase with him directly for payment settlement??

Usually, I will furnish by bank details such as account number and account name to facilitate interbank transfers. Don't it happen this way for most online sellers??

Hi, Bambie

I've called 3 bank they also don't know what is it when at 1st the buyer stated cash in registered letter then now it becomes cash in letter. Well, not safe too if its cash in letter. Ya hor will try ask for his friend email but may not be given as can give excuse that is personal.

Fyi I've asked bank if funds remitted (not cheque payments will be different type of charges) from overseas to our savings account there'll be a charge of SGD$10. Moreover not sure will their side charge us or the buyer too. No charges if funds remitted from singapore so hope his friend is in singapore. not worth it if the profit is minimal.

I'm skeptical why the buyer gave me paypal email address but yet still can't pay thru paypal till now which I've told the buyer to ask paypal what's wrong with the account. The buyer didn't even get back to me...the bid ended on 5 Jan' 08 till now payments not received whereby I've already settle few transactions with some overseas buyer and also some from europe thru paypal.

Thanks for the advice. Is it ok for me to PM you for comments after I've drafted out the details to be email to the buyer? TYVM.

Honestly, i don't really trust all these online payment stuff. I had a paypal account a couple of years back and was forced to close it due to all the spamming i got. It really wasn't very safe as many people would try to squeeze information out of you, till you can't tell which is real and which is fake.

Hi beadsandends, ya true indeed I also received spam email from buyer said can't go thru paypal and must click this link or that. So I just tell the buyer don't bid my items in future if they're not going to pay me thru paypal or don't have a paypal account. I rather don't want to have such business. Since I didn't reveal any information so no need to close my account. Thanks.

To receive local payments, I will not use Paypal, simply ask my buyers to transfer by ATM. Faster since the transfer from Paypal to our local bank account takes 5-7 business days. :juggle:

Hi, for me only after 1 to 2 transactions then I realise can also ask my buyers to pay in SGD$ so received payments in SGD$ won't affect exchange rate if transfer to SGD$ local bank account then.

Ya its better NOT to receive local payments thru paypal as got charges.
