websites - nothing piss the customer off more than pop-ups hehe..
anyway, u can advertise ur website in free online classified ads like efair or 88db etc. meanwhile, tell ur frens and family about the site, and hopefully they'll spread the word for ya. my uni classmates and mum did a great deal for me :) *love* also, since u have pushcarts now, u can distribute namecards and ask ur customers for namecards too so u can keep them in ur mailing list :)

Hi,

Understood, as I am running a online shop and push cart too.

Is a good thing that you are going for online but pls make sure that you have the time to maintain it and your 2 push carts as well.

How to let pple know?

As for me, I have been using friendster to pull in my traffic.

Currently, i have about 8 accounts with a min of 1000 members each.

Secondly, can go to post on online ads site (E.g.mocca, adpost and topsite), google adwords and also can hire a online marketing firm to promote for you.

Lastly, Pls set up a database and use it send out newsletter regularly..

Thanks..

Lately google adwords has become more complicated to green users.

Here are some hints:

1. Do not forget to set your daily budget.
2. Set a reasonable PPC amount. Due to keyword relevancy, it may cost you dearly, if you enter a very high amount.
3. Enable Analytics tracking.
4. Enable Conversion tracking.
5. Disable content network.
6. Enable site targeting based PPC.
7. Select keywords which are related to your website / product landing page.
8. Always have multiple campaigns and compare them weekly. Remove campaigns which perform badly and add a new one to get the better result.
9. Do not think high rank at sponsored link will get you better return.

thanks for the info! very useful! btw, i recently attended a short talk regarding this. they mentioned that the "high rank" would depend on the quality of the content in your website, so the choice of keywords best is to be as relevant as possible.

for those who dunno, adwords work on a basis where u pay only when people click ur ad.. somehow i find that competitors will click ur ad more often than potential customers :p just my thots hehe

True..
Popular keywords like clothes, apparels and earrings also need to pay much more. That's why I'm using friendster and face book to pull in the traffic.
I found it Much more effective than using adwords, but very timing consuming.

However, it wouldn't be free and a easy way out there.
