![]() As long as you are carry on a business you should register your business though a lot of people esp online sellers are not doing so. It is actually an offence under the Business Registration Act.
It's is easy to register online, and the annual licence fees is $20. If you are going ahead to register, do so as a sole proprietor will do. When it comes to income tax submission, declare your employment income as per normal and under the trade or other income (can't remember the categories), declare income /losses from your online business. In the case of a profit, you will be tax under personal tax rate together with your employment income. In the case of a loss, the loss will be offset against your employment income if I'm not mistaken. Keep simple accounts of your sales & business expenses, don't wait till the last minute. Here's an interesting document which I came across, although dated Sep 2005, the basics are still useful info. http://www.business.gov.sg/NR/rdonly...eneurguide.pdf ![]() Good luck. |
