Default Getting Consignment Goods for Blogshops

hi all, sorry this is my recent post. I am starting a very nice (hopefully) online blogshop like others. But my theme is more on budget but quality stuffs like nail polish OPI, china glaze, nail stickers etc.

I have some clothings also but not enough and i do not have enough money to buy and sell. I rather put on consignment or profit sharing. i wonder anyone has any recommandatons where can i get handmade exclusive stuffs? clothing also can. cos i have high expectation on products.
This was a question posed earlier on by one of the other members. For thoses who wanna hawk their goods, please, do not do it here. This is more for ideas and discussion.

One thing you should be careful of is not to take too many different items. I've seen blogshops with all sorts of items and the whole thing becomes very messy. Imagine a shop that sells everything from packaged snacks to toilet bowls. Would you step in? I hardly think so. So you need a theme for your blogshop.

As for not having $ to buy and sell, most of us here have that problem. Being a blogshop, the problem is actually less. What you can do is to get pictures of the items and order from your supplier only when you get the order. The downside is of course, you earn less. Which is why I'm working on the premium side. I'm sure most suppliers would not mind you *selling* their handmade stuff as its more exposure for them. The more you sell, the more famous they become. Just drop them a msg. Of course, if you're talking about exclusivity, thats a different matter entirely. You will need to convince the person why he/she should give the item to you and only you. If you do not have exclusivity, you need to start giving people a reason to go to your website. How does your website differ from others. Remember that if you keep dropping price below your other competitors, your supplier might not be fully happy about it as the others will feedback...

Just a few thoughts.
