![]() You can advertise to get started, but remember to check on your ROI (Return of Investment). You can try google adwords.
Please remember that if you advertise $100 and only manage to get $50, you make a lost. Furthermore, many advertising platforms are occupied by giant companies which have unlimited budget for branding. Competing with them will surely kill your business. In the long run, organic search engine placement is the only answer. |

![]() Hi,
You can join in eBay or Gmarket if have limited budget. Please check out for posting fee in eBay 1st before you post. Simple posting for max 7days, with min feature is free. Gmarket is total free, and can put up to 1 year, unless you sell something then hav to pay 12%. They might not buy from you at first but sure will check you out. Once you have some ROI then you can ads any where as you please. ![]() |

![]() I am seller from Gmarket,if you want to sell in Gmarket you need to sell your goods very very cheap.Just imagine some seller can sell $3.90 or $4.90 for a Korean T-shirt and a pair of earring $1.90 to $3.90.I am wondering how all these seller going to make after 12% deduction to Gmarket.
Some sellers told me all the power seller that sell very cheap Korean stuff are actually Gmarket themself, no deduction of 12%. So many people buy from them they are earning on volume .Gmarket get all their goods direct from factory a T-shirt cost 50cents and a pair of earring cost them 10 to 20cents they sell the same thing in Korea and Singapore. Sometimes busy month I can sell about 30 to 40 pieces of items but I won't promote into power seller level. Customer base most of them are young adult or student looking for cheap things. They seldom give you good rating, they receive good item they keep quiet when they receive item that not up to their expectation they very fast to condemn you even you sell quite good quality dress selling at $19 they said not worth the money.Sigh. ![]() |

![]() Ebay too messy every 7 days you got to reload your items all over again.Gmarket got good and bad points but not like ebay 7 days, Gmarket let to sell goods on their platform duration is one year.Usually you post your goods less than a year the item will be sold so not a much problem to reload again.
They also allow buyer to tranfer fund (POSB)and most student do not have credit card so they make very easy for students to buy their goods. Gmarket does not target on Singapore market,Singapore too small for them Singapore is just a platform for them to go into Asia market includes Vietnam,Malaysia,Brunei,Thailand and Indonesia. Gmarket is super big and successful in Korea out of their expectation I was told and is a million dollar business now. |
