Default Bad Experience @ Republic Poly Bazaar

I just ended my bazaar event @ Republic Poly last week. As its a 2 days event, most vendors left their goods/display structure overnight (though they are awared that its to their own risk). One of my vendor discovered that their stall was shifted. Its only in a later stage that I found out its due to some last min work by the sch during the night. However the vendor was eager and called up the police. I tried to explain to the vendor that upon their sign up, they were already made known that any overnight storage was discouraged by the sch and orgr. Thus any loss/damaged/vandalised goods will not be liable by us and also apologised on behalf of the sch for not informing in advance out of courtesy. However the vendor claimed that should there be any damaged/loss of goods due to this action (which I'm unsure whether its true??). Followed which, he took photos of his stall and goods.

We are in the midst of discussing whether to stop all these unnecessary "troubles" by strictly disallow ALL overnight storage.

Hello

Maybe you should disallow, to save all the troubles, or make them sign a disclaimer?

Hmm, disallow is not a good idea i feel. Good for the organizer but bad for the vendor...Quite difficult to move the goods each day...quite siong so may discourage vendors to sign up for such events? sign the contract with black and white should be good enough

The vendor argument is valid, because the stall was shifted.

yes I understand the vendor's point of view. However they didnt even give me time to react and checked further from the sch. They actually hed straight to the security counter and after which I only get to know that the police is here...

disallowing is actually a bad idea for both the vendor and the org.. if you have to cart home everything everyday, would you go for such a event? I think tiny tiny has a good idea. They are allowed to provided they sign something to that effect.

In this case, I would fix the blame on the school. and your client, while being fussy, is not entirely wrong. I once sold all fragile items. I packed it all at night, but if it was damaged due to action or inaction by the org, i would be very unhappy.

Just wondering, when you said

*I tried to explain to the vendor that upon their sign up, they were already made known that any overnight storage was discouraged by the sch and orgr.*

was it in verbal form or in print of any kind?

It was stated in my publicity and the email upon their payment made that sch and orgr will not be liable for any damages/loss of goods due to overnight storage. Well, I think I will include the agreement next time round. Txs so much guys
