![]() Hi,
i happened to come across this forum and find it pretty interesting. I agree with some of the members here who recommended OSCommerce. The system is very stable, and there are many additional modules you can add on to make the eshop the way you want it... Other alternatives for open source (free) Ecommerce include zencart, cubecart, and other smaller shopping carts. I differentiate Ecommerce programs fr shopping carts by their functions. As long as they have product and member database, we consider them Ecommerce. Having just a add to cart and check out function is a basic shopping cart program. Whether to choose a shopping cart program, or to choose a Ecommerce program depends on your objectives and goals. Having a Eshop is the perfect complimentary service to having a push cart. It is a small price to pay for the additional selling channel (since you already have the goods in hand). For as low as $150/yr you can setup a website and unsecured eshop, for less than $400/yr, you can have a running eshop with SSL certificate.... It all depends on what you want, and how much you can budget for the Eshop |
