Default Selling on eBay

Hi, I am quite curious and wonder if anyone of you out there has sold things on ebay or yahoo singapore before? From my understanding, Yahoo Singapore Auctions seem to be rather inactive compared to ebay. But i read from somewhere that e-bay collects fees? is that true? and how do i make my item stand out in ebay? anyone can enlighten me? thanks.....

Singapore ebay does not charge fees for listings unless you add instuff such as extra pics or anything that requires fees...for international ebay, listing fees and final charge fees apply after the auction is closed with a bid...all those minus the extra items you want, like layouts, etc...

I've had experience both in eBay and Yahoo Auctions SG

eBay pros -
1. user traffic is tremendous, if you have a wanted item, you can easily get 50+ people within a day
2. wider audience
3. wider reach
4. potentail for growth (with the right products)

eBay cons
1. the eBay fees (not discounting paypal) will KILL you
2. you can rack up $100 fees easily just by posting item (you haven't sold anything)
3. tight security, sometimes they will just randomly suspend users eventhough you haven't done anything wrong (just like random checks)
4. be prepared to deal with unrealistic people, people who expect their packages to be sent within 5 minutes upon payment

just some pointers

Red face re: Selling on eBay

i have posted in both ebay and yahoo auction...

prefer yahoo anytime..as it is FOC

ebay..you need to becareful how long you want your auction to run.. from 7 to 10 days..you need to pay a fee..

basically you need to be alert on which area require fee...

In the past I loved selling on eBay Singapore especially for small fries like us, coz we dun want to chalk up the price so high. But over a couple of years I noticed they keep changing the fees system. If you want the first photo to be posted, you need to pay, if it's buy it now price, you need to pay.

I stopped using it when I was about to submit my posting, it stated that I need to pay $1 plus, which never happened to me as it's always $0. Do not think that I want everything to be free as I did had my own store and it was wasted

Ebay is making things hard for seller, imagine you as a seller that cannot leave negative or neutral feedback to buyer.only positive is allow.
what is that? i don't think that is fair esp to unreasonable buyer or dead bidder.

prepare to pay when you want to make use of their services to sell,

it's a very helpful tool if your product is popular and with high demand....

just some points to take note.

i would highly suggest Auctiva Tool for Ebayers. Currently ebay is charging a fee for gallery pic, so what I do is I will pay for gallery pic for 10% of my listings then lead people to my Auctiva site to view all my auctions listing. Auctiva provides an online store, bulk relisting, scrolling gallery in each of your listing and lots more. Check it out!

Actually I never sell things at eBay nor Yahoo Auction. I have tried to register but need a credit card verification before I can post item for sales. I am wondering what can I do if I do not have credit card?
Can any one out there give me some advises. Thanks.
