do you mean the designs are exclusively designed by yourself? If so, own label makes sense but you need to consider how cost efficient it is to design and manufacture your own designs... in most cases, it is not cost efficient for small time players.
If you are referring to taking some imported products and stick/sewn on your own label, my personal opinion is no point wasting $ unless you are pretty sure those designs cannot be found elsewhere. Imagine the same piece of apparel bearing 2 different labels... I've seen that before, and as a shopper, that piece of apparel may at first look unique but once I see the same piece under a different label, I will feel cheated As an example, I went to this fashion outlet (shan't name it here) in CityLink Mall, quite a prominent local brand, saw a skirt with their label. When I went bugis, I saw the same piece, bearing a different label. Under this kind of circumstances, I think twice about getting that skirt, doesn't matter who owns the design. hmm.. thanks for your advice.. in fact i oso think in the same way as you, tt's why i hesitate to have my own label on my imported clothes..
